Buying a small wooden bike

Like-a-bike, etc.

I have been doing some research on those little wooden bikes you see kids riding on around town because I want to get one as a gift. The main brand I have found are the Like-a-bike bikes that cost between 140 and 200 euros.

But I recently pulled this ad from a magazine and I wished I had kept the mag because the bikes are hard to find for that price. It is a very similar bike to the like-a-bike for only 20 euros.

2-rad on Barerstrasse used to carry something similar but now only has the like-a-bike or a metal model for 50 euros. The thing is, I want this gift to be from Germany and the wooden bike is a perfect fit. Does anyone know of any shops that sell the cheaper version?

Thanks,

Yeah, I think the wooden ones are more quaint and 'German like'. ph34r.gif
Since I leave for the US on Monday I guess I will order from Ebay.com.

I don't know if they have the cheaper ones, but they have at least two different brands of the wooden bikes in the window at the bike store near Lehel's U-Bahn station (the opposite end from Thierschplatz on Gewurzstr. and St. Anna Str.

I ended up getting one at Karstadt Haus am Dom for 65 euros. First obergeschoss.
Karstadt Sport's "bicycle section" which I checked first didn't have the wooden ones and they told me that the bikes were in the "kid games" section of the third Karstadt, the one closest to Marienplatz. Obeletter had some but only for 149 euros. The quality of this one looks pretty good, and I think I might paint it or paint part of it for a neat look. Hopefully it will last a few years with my nephew and then perhaps some more years for my kids that remain on the distant horizon of our family planning.

Note: There are three Karstadt stores between Karlsplatz and Marienplatz on Kaufingerstrasse.
Karstadt Sport is to the West, Karstadt Haus am Dom is to the East and some other Karstadt is between.
