Germans laughing in all the wong places in cinema

I got dragged on Saturday to the cinema to see Mona Lisa's Smile (of which by the way I recommend, was actually quite a good film) and it becomes quite obvious that most of the audience were German trying hard to learn English, and just did not understand the film, and they were laughing in all the wrong places. Its really annoying.

Has any else experianced that ?
