Well tried searching for this question on the archives, but couldnt get the answer :
Who can delete the posting made on a TT forum ?
There was this id from mr_k on Items for Sale to sell a computer and I was having a rather interesting conversation with someone else ( dont remember the name ) and now I find that the topic has vanished!.
guess somebody deleted it, and was interested in the whereabouts of the same.

only moderators can. But the posts aren't really deleted, they just made invisable on the forum. The mod team do this to tidy up threads (in forums outside of MRC) to make it easier for future readers of the thread.

All other posts have obviously been removed from that thread, since mr k is easily excitable and freaks out at any questions or comments.
Edit: Whoever just gave me bad karma for that statement obviously missed mr k's tizzy fit the other day (that has since been removed).

(name i forget) - go to dell.de instead. you get a warranty and its the same price.
(slider) - get lost and advertise dell somewhere else
pardasani - thanks for the dell link, i was thinking of buying mr k's computer before then.
(slider) - let mr k sell his stuff in peace.
not too exciting, just pretty unfair on mr k i thought.
i dont know why people insist on judging the prices etc of items sold here. if you dont want to buy them, dont!

@Slider - Perhaps to better inform others who might not know better. But then again, they deserve it if they buy a computer without doing the research first.

@ lion : yes I was talking about that advertisement only... I had a mail from the big brother editor bob explaining the situation...
@ fluffy : the chat wasnt really exciting as slider points out
@slider : i guess whoever buys the stuff would like to get the price verified himself, so any pointers in that direction do help !.

but they could do this on a separate thread. i would be livid if i was selling a computer and someone came on and advertised something else on MY THREAD.
isnt it a bit rude towards mr k?
EDIT: is this a joke, im sure there were more posts between this one and the one it is under right now... delete key busy again!

We could argue that it is helpful to Mr.K as it may help him to get his prices right?
I think it's a live by the sword and die by the sword environment myself. If someone posts "yeah but the Dell is cheaper and better" when it isn't - then the truth will out.
Information is generally key to decision making - I would personally prefer to get the added info from another TTer with no axe to grind.
If Mr. K does not like this "open style" environment he can post on Ebay etc.

well i dont think my thread or his thread makes a difference... anyone reading the first, with high probability, read the second... and it looks rather a out of place, to start a new thread saying look dell is cheaper ...
Personally myself would not mind a reply like that because it would give me a better price estimate...

exactly...I also noticed that Mr K got a bit of a thrashing the other day thought it was a bit unfair he was only trying to sell some stuff which is completely allowable on TT.
caveat empor etc.

Yeah, but Spudgun, the only reason he got a thrashing was because he went ballistic at some perfectly reasonable comments. No, not all of them were, but some were, and he was a jerk.

I would assume (Mr K would have to correct me on this) that as the computer is brand new and never been out of the box, he is selling it for the amount he paid for it. Therefore, not needing a better price estimate than the one he has chosen?

well actually my last post was not about only the computer case, but also for other things being sold on the forum...
also if its brand new and all that their should be to the best of my belief no price discrepancy between the rates that mr_k has to offer and the outside world rates ..
