Did anyone see 'Toughest Pubs in Britain' on Sky One last nite?
The gist of it was trying to fill an hour of viewing time by showing the 'characters' and interiors of the so called 'Toughest Pubs in Britain'.
If Bayern 3 did the same fly on the wall documentary in Munich which pubs would it cover?
As long as they didn't replace 'Bob Ross: The Joy of Painting' it could be a goer in the 2-3 am slot for insomniacs.
Would you include your local Stübchen or Penner Kneipe? Do tell...

If anyone is from the Devon area they showed the Avondale Arms on the show.

I don't really know of any particularly tough pubs in Munich. Had a tentative moment in a Serbian bar near Isartor once, but it mellowed quickly enough.

And Acqua, I sincerely hope that "Bob" never gets replaced. The man is truly a genius and a beacon for our futures. So long as we always have "a happy little bush" nearby things will never go wrong biggrin.gif

toughest pub in munich = shamrock (to breathe in)

Been here a year and the only pub I have seen a fight in(Well it was one punch thrown and then broken up)was the Shamrock.

Shamrock: because it is the only place in Munich I've ever seen fights out/inside

Oops, I've seen two proper fights in two different pubs and I was involved in both of them. smile.gif

Sweet little me who wouldn't hurt a fly! One was because I didn't like a group of guys picking on the very efeminate gay waiter, so maybe I was guilty of starting that one, and the other was a long, long time ago in a pub in town when a guy bumped into me and didn't apologise. That was before I became all tolerant and understanding wink.gif

are you more of a barry mcguigan or a steve collins type?

the only fight i've ever seen in munich was in the schwabinger sieben... (except, of course, oktoberfest) ...two guys sitting on bar stools punching each other...

Never seen fight in a pub in Krautland in the 7 (o shit, nearly 8 years) years I've been here.

Lived in Newcastle just before coming here. Loadsa fights smile.gif Atmosphere was sort of electric, you never knew when the first fist would fly, even in the posh pubs!!! Quite miss it really. Strange what you miss, even if you hated it then.

Don't forget the old (Viz) british saying:

"A pint and a fight makes a good british night"

And Viz is written in Newcastle wink.gif Home of Biffa Bacon, The Fat Slags and Sid the Sexist.

Any Geordies out there???
