Sub-letting an apartment for Oktoberfest

Good or BAD idea?

jamie
Oktoberfest seems to be looming over the horizon, and I just had an idea, to sublet my apartment to some tourists.
Now this will be my first time in Munich for Oktoberfest so I'm a bit of an Oktoberfest virgin. What do ye think guys?...
Quick way to earn some extra cash?...Or asking for trouble?

Anyone had any experience?
YorkshireLad6
Just think about it - 6 heavilly pissed Italians/Brits/Amis/Irish/Ozzies/KiWis/whatever coming back after a each has downed dozen Maß and a couple o' chickens at the O'fest to your nice, clean fresh apartment...

It doesn't bear thinking about...
jamie
Okay, stupid idea really. D'oh!
YorkshireLad6
It is, however a common (and profitable) thing to do when there are larger tradeshows on in town (Systems, Electronica), especially if your home is on the east side of town near the Messegelände...

Assumes, of course, that if you are renting, then your landlord doesn't mind you sub-letting

see the thread somewhere in Classifieds asking for a flat to rent during the Ofest

300 Euro for Apt, Sep 23-26 for Oktoberfest

VERY BAD to do for party-goers.

Very good to sublet or rent out just a room to Oktoberfest workers if you live close to the Wiesen.

woof.

It's worth considering it for the World Cup next year. You could rent it out for an entire month. Charge extortionate rent and get a huge deposit. There'll be takers.
jamie
Now there's a good idea! I could charge 'em what I want. Cool!
