Piano or keyboard rental

Does such a service even exist here?

Okay, here's the scoop: My husband and I are relocating to Munich for at least one year, maybe more. We leave in about six weeks. I work as a professional singer (choral/classical/operatic mezzo-soprano) and voice teacher. Obviously, I am not going to ship over a piano, and I do not want to buy a new one if we only stay a year or two. I could buy and then ship a keyboard, but I'm not sure it would be worth it. So, my question is really several questions:

Do any of you know about the possibility of renting a piano or keyboard?
How much would that cost?
What about used instruments?
Anyone have experience in that department?

Renting pianos and other musical instruments is fairly common here in the States, but I don't know how it works in Germany.

Thanks,

Hello,

Being a Piano Teacher myself I can understand your worries. I left my Piano back in Australia and had to scour the market for a decent rental Piano.

Try Klavier Hirsch (Sendlinger Tor) or the Steinwayhaus (Laim). Both offer rentals at a decent price. If you would like a more personal opinion (prices, gripes, the knitty gritty etc.) please feel free to send me a pm (personal message.)
