Weißbier - Is it not cool to drink this? - Munich

Or only not cool at the Oktoberfest?

Titoslack
I must admit I love Weiss Beer, last year at the wiesn' I stayed in the small weiss bier tent just to drink wheat beer. Is it not cool to enjoy a Franziakaner ? Please Advise ?
NOFXmike
@ the Wies'n? no, definately not cool.

otherwise, yes, during the day...

I love alcohol and will drink whatever I damn well please. If I feel like having a Mai Tai with a shot of whisky on the side and a bud lite chaser, I will. More likely though, one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer.

Often I drink Weissbier at biergartens because I don't like to have a Maß Helles. I can't drink that much liquid before it gets warm. Tip for the savvy: try the Sommerbier at Chinesicher. It comes in 1/2L and has way more flavor than Helles-wasser.
ish
dunkles weißbier...the only choice!!!
Tim
@one51 - I hear ya and share many of those feelings.

The problem I have with Weis'n at the Wies'n is that often I find myself drinking it alone, yes, with nobody else. Often when I drink alone I prefer to be by myself. But not at Oktoberfest...

The only German beer better than Dunkles Weissbier is Starkbier IMO... so Dunkles Weissbier for 10 months a year

For putting on weight, you mean?

Often when I drink alone I prefer to be by myself.
Can't fault your English, Tim
In this case I'm having problems with the semantics part. Or is it just me

To answer the original question: No, there is absolutely nothing wrong with drinking weissbier, nor is there a stigma attached. What gives you the idea that there might be?
NOFXmike
Jeeves, he was quoting a song...sort of.

When I drink alone, I also prefer to be by myself.

You know what sux... I come in last night about half past ten, that baby of mine wouldn't let me in.

Just kidding. I guess you can't fault a Brit for not knowing George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

I was out last night too, but I was walking forty seven miles and by the end my feet felt like barbed wire. Funny, because I was wearing a crobra-snake necktie. Anyway, I got home to my brand new house on the roadside (which is made out of rattlesnake hide and has a brand new chimney put on top, made out of human skulls. Sometimes I get in trouble for that, especially in Germany, but I digress). Perhaps next time one of you would like to take a little walk with me?
