You know, like a gaggle of geese. Do all words have a corresponding collective noun? What would it be for doctors? Do they gaggle too or would it be a bloodfest of doctors? smile.gif

Name your collective nouns here, with funny German ones too maybe. Are there even collective nouns in Germany?

This should have been a Friday thread I guess, but I was to busy and, well, I didn't think of it yesterday lol
Kat
A dose of doctors

murder of crows - sounds right. I've never trusted crows, not once, nor squirrels. What are they burying all those nuts for, hmm? They know something and they aren't telling - little rats with good P.R. I say. It's a conspiracy of squirrels.

'Gays' would fall in the 'human' category.
A busload of people... is that right? biggrin.gif

A troop of monkeys.
OhFFS
Lumme! Caught! biggrin.gif

I suppose you won't let me have "a band of rubbers" either?

My favourite is a flange of baboons:-

QUOTE
The collective noun for baboons is commonly troop or congress, although flange is also becoming common

- wikipedia

or

a smack of jellyfish :-

QUOTE
A group of jellyfish is often called a "smack

- wikipedia

N.B. Sorry quotes were necessary as proof that I'm not bullshitting as was suggested by some TTer's - you know who you are!!!
frizzyjen
Oh and can anyone think of a good suggestion for a collective noun for 'idiots'? Or does one exist???
Tom17
lol you said flange.

So I saw this thread without noticing who started it and thought "ooh like a gaggle of geese?". Then I saw that it was my thread. Then I saw that I mentioned a gaggle of geese in the opening sentence.

Stupid forgetful repetitive brain!
