Implanon - Implanted female contraceptive - Munich

Experiences with, and removal of

klgirl
I got Implanon put in approximately 15 months ago after I had my second baby. So 4 periods, many kilos (not all due to implanon), terrible mood swings etc later, I want to get this damned thing out. My gynae has tried twice, but he cant do it (according to the company website supposed to be under 3 minutes - yeah right) and it was mega mega painful. So does anyone her use implanon? What were your experiences with it and most importantly have u had it taken out here? I did send the company Orgagon (located in Oberschleissheim) an email asking for a list of doctors trained in removing the implant but of course this being Germany I have received no response.
Showem
When did you write them? I've had varying results when writing to companies here, some responded the next day, some responded 10 days later. I'd give them a call and I'd also not let that Frauenartz near me again. If he's too butterfingered to get the implant out, how good can he be at fiddling with my internal bits?
Nicky
How about calling the Frauenkliniks of the Universities? Either in Großhadern or Rechts der Isar? If anyone knows here, then they should. Call and ask to speak to one of the Oberärzte or to the professors' secretaries.

I like Showem's idea, call the company direct- need that person to person contact. I never get responses from emails.

Good Luck, I am leaving on holidays in the morning, otherwise I could ask 3 of my Gyno patients.

If you have problems with the language (I have no idea how your German is) then PM me and I'll try to call for you.

Hi showem, will give them a call. Lets see how far my german-english combination can get me.

I have had an IUD for years with no problems, had them taken out after there time ran out and had another inserted after the birth of my second child. Very disturbing to hear how rough of a time you are having. Have you had regular gyno visits since you have had it inserted? Not to worry you but it shouldn't hurt at all, maybe a little uncomfortable but this is all and even a nurse practioner should be able to remove one.

good luck

Hi hockeywidow, this is not an IUD - its a metal rod inserted in the upper arm. should be good for three years.
so i called up orgacon this morning and of course they could not give me any doctor info. said off course they do have it, but to give it to me would be illegal. ok. they suggested that i go to a hospital (their materials says removal at docs office with average time of 3 mins) and wished me good luck. thanks so much orgacon or whatever u are called.

With what we have to go through at these places I think chocolate should be on offer in EVERY waiting room Is she the one that provides hand creme or something as well? Must give this Dr. Hildescheid a looksee.

I have assisted in many of these procedures and have never seen a doctor unable to remove it. Sometimes they are a little contrary if they have been in the full 3 years but only 15 months shouldn't be that difficult. I would definately go see a different doctor. Good Luck!
