Based on price and service I have been pleased to buy online...
for Mac hardware
Cancomcyberportfor telecommunications equipment
phonetechfor toner refill suppliers
tonerfabrik-berlinfor replacement batteries
weltweit-akkuAny you want to add to the list (or warn against...)?
Does this mean no one buys online?

I buy online, but the places I use require you to register as a dealer before they let you in so they wouldn't be usefull for 95% of TT users.
The 2 that I use that don't require Registration are:
AlternateSnogardBut it really depends on what your looking for, some places are the only ones in Germany that carry certain parts.

For bigger purchases, we usually wait until we make a trip back home... Fry's Electronics has absolutely everything and anything you'd want (even obscure stuff you didnt know you needed!) and they sell pretty cheap. Especially day after Thanksgiving and Christmas-
Basically anything we can buy here in Germany, we can find cheaper in the States...

Litec computers in Munich.
http://www.litec-computer.deYou can buy online and go to the store.
They are pros, and they are as cheap as it gets.
I've found most of what I needed at
Computer Universe.
Only thing I wasn't able to order from them was a replacement lamp for my projector, but that's not really a computer item.

K&M ElektronikThe latter is just great. You can buy online, or you can reserve items online and pick them up in their Munich shop near
Münchner Freiheit, or you can just go there and buy. It's especially handy to check whether they got what you need before you go there, for their website is checking availability in the stores.

Darkknight: Snogard...any idea how long they take to ship usually? Or if I'd be better off taking the trip into town?

HI,
I am looking for Windows XP home edition in English. Surprisingly none of the places sell the Home edition in English. Almost everyone has Professional edition.
If anyone knows of a place that trades this, I would like to know.
Thanks & Regards

Litec, and many (If not most) of the Computer stores down near Schiller Str. have or can get Windows XP Pro or Home In English... If you can't find it then your not looking in the right places..

Herr Darkknight,
I did checkout those places. I can only find XP Proffesional in English not XP Home. The price difference is pretty between the two and I actually dont need XP proffesional.

Warning: Beware "compatible" cartridges, nonames and re-builds. False economy and long term potential disaster. Might invalidate any manufacturer guarantee too.
QUOTE (YorkshireLad6 @ Apr 25 2006, 7:15 pm)

Might invalidate any manufacturer guarantee too.
True enough: but I bought my PSC 1210 from a TTer for 25€ a year ago or so. I have no papers for the rig.

@kumar_aqua
Borrow any copy of XP home from somebody witha disk, install it, then go to windows update. IT'll tell you that you have a dodgy copy of windows, and ask you to purchase a legit one - which means they'll simply send you a license code straight away, and the disk will come in the post later

http://www.computeruniverse.net are my fave. Unbelievable service, great uptodate catalog on their site and the prices are very competitive. Never had any problems with them even when returning stuff. Must have spent nearly 5k there by now
If you are looking for good value then
http://www.jes.de/ is also very good.

Here's another
Idealo it's like the German version of
Google's "Froogle" price finding service. Type in what your looking for and it will tell you which online store in germany has it at the lowest price.
