German Toilet Paper

I never cease to be amazed at some of the names used for toilet paper here. None of your innocuous "Andrex" branding for these lads. My personal favourites are "Danke", "Touching" and the absolutely brilliant "Happy End". Anyone seen any other good bogroll brands?

None of yer 3-ply here, I've got 4 ply deluxe 'super soft and secure' in my bog, with what looks like a magnified image of the weave on the packaging.

Definitely something of an obsession here, what's so secure about it I wonder?

Incidently I normally just buy the cheap stuff but had some visitors staying who did all my shopping one day. Girls eh?

Even the Charmin that I buy is the German width and thickness. And Charmin is a US company. I find German width to be about 1 cm less wide, but the thickness is not unlike a thin washcloth.

My personal favourite is the toilet-roll dispenser in pub or café toilets by the name of "Big Willy"

I also like the name "Happy End" ("Danke"'s Danke is a "thanks for using recycled paper and wiping your bum on trees because they are our lungs man") but these two replies need a comment from me.

For those of you who don't, the URL translates to, "Take a shit for Germany/Philosophy". It's a website which sells loo roll. All the profits go to the government to pay off the national debt. Or something like that.

Personally I find german bog roll: shit - appropriately!
The standard here is much lower than in England, IMHO.
Although they do have cool names and pictures on the toilet paper, this is true.

I found this string rather amusing, so I thought I'd add some observations.

At the Mathäser cinema they have advertisement on their toilet paper. I found that amusing.

And 3 lions has some toilet paper that has German sayings in different dialects. I think they were about cleaning your house. I think there was a word for vacuum cleaner in a different dialect and so on. I found that amusing. Especially since he didn't know it!

And now my German dialect education is going down the toilet...literally

Does it have words in Dutch as well, since Dutch is sometimes called a German dialect...?

Well if it had Dutch on it, it would at least be landing in the right place...
