What: TT Photo Club meeting
When: Tuesday 9th August - 8pm

Please bring material to discuss (prints, digital pictures, camera equipment, etc). We will talk about projects, outtings, etc (view the rest of this thread for mor details).

Something that I would like to do when you all come to my place: a portrait session of the members. This way we could add a "face" to this club and maybe motivate new members and this will also be an excellent exercise. it doesn´t have to be formal portraits, and it´s not mandatory, i just think it would be cool

Hi everybody,

thanks a lot for coming and for all your positive inputs. Here is a summary of tonight´s meeting:

- Launch of the "TT photo hunt". Themes for this session are:
* Summer in Munich (if you can find it)
* Chaos in Munich
* Ugly side of Munich
* Red
* Propaganda
* Loneliness
* Round
* Fluffy
* Yesterday
* Ten
Rule is simple: people taking part must try to take pictures of all themes (more than 1 picture/theme is allowed) and bring them to the next meeting where they will be discussed (please bring prints or digital files). You should not bring old photos but only new ones taken between today and the next meeting. After all, the purpose is to make you go out there and take pictures

- Website project (see email communication for more details)

- Workshop/Topic. According to interest, skills and willingness to share with others. Someone to talk about 1 specific topic or give workshop to others during meetings.

- Genie will send the list of projects/outings and we will vote to decide about next one.

Yes, thanks all. It was great getting together. Thanks DK for hosting and posting the info from last night. I would be happy to host the next meeting, I don't have a lot of seating, but plenty of floor space, and a projector, so you may share images if they are online, or bring a disc along with you.

If you'd like to do this, let me know, and I will post address/directions as we get closer to meeting.

as I mentionned last time, here is the provider that i found for our web hosting: www.revido.de
Unfortunately it´s all in German but as I said, costs are 1 time 20€+20€/year. You get a domain name (with a ".de")+7GB of webspace with 150GB traffic/month. 500 email addresses, etc...
What do you think? We can discuss this next week but I think it´s a very good offer.

@fotogirl: I think what Dee meant is that the offer that this site gives is explained entirely in German. About the content, we can put in whatever we want.

@DeeKay: it looks fine to me. I'm alright with going ahead with this offer, but if people would like to talk it over during the next meeting I can restrain myself

Speaking of - are we sorted out with next week's meeting? Mels? Pinky? Whoever's OK with having it at his/her place, please post where, when, how to get there etc.

Would be happy to host the next meeting in my apartment. My boyfriend Alex is also a photographer, it'd be a good chance to get him involved as well. We don't have the biggest living room, but it's cozy.

There will be a gate with a keypad/telephone directory for the whole complex, Type in 167 and i can let you in.

After the gate, there will be three entrances, ours is the middle entrance. The name is Krohmer. It's right on the ground floor.

Hi all,

Due to the high number of people who are not able to come, we're going
to cancel tonight's Toytown photo club meeting, and move it forward to
Tuesday next week, same time.

Now we have no excuse to not bring any new images.. : ) (I've a
sneaking suspicion most of us weren't as diligent as DK.)

Some people from my old projekt fotografie course are also interested
in coming - there are quite a few of them - they would like to join us
next time.

Hi all,

i have a good opportunity for all of you photographers out there: I am selling one of my digital SLR camera:

- Nikon D70s (so the newer version of the D70, check specs on www.dpreview.com), brand new, hardly ever used (just a few shots). I bought it about 2 months ago as a "second camera" but due to the announcement of the Canon 5D, I have decided to go "full frame"

So what i am selling is:
- a Nikon D70s body + the Nikon kit-lens (18-70mm, f3,5-4,5) + a UV filter for that lens + Nikon 70-300mm + CF card 1GB SanDisk Ultra II (was included in the kit)
- i bought everything at Saturn about 2 months ago, so I have all the receipts and guarantee (and also the box if you want it)
- New, I paid 1189€ for the camera and the kit lens and an additional 179€ for the 70-300mm lens

I want 1100€ (maybe negotiable...) for the whole thing. The retail prices haven´t changed so far so I think i am giving away a VERY good bundle here.

Dear photophiles,

First of all, thank you all for coming over last night!

In attendance were: Dee, Sherry, Yishai, Mel, Alex, Sylvia, Monika, Roman, Pinky.

Here's a review of what we discussed:

a. As mentioned above, yes, we now have a new name! The name was chosen at last night's meeting. 'photophile' got 7 votes . Second runner up was 'mangopeanut' with 4 votes. 'lightleak' came in at third place.

b. As already discussed in the meeting prior, a website where we can all post our work and discuss our projects seemed to be something which everybody wanted and would contribute some money to. The address, which has already been registered (right guys?) will be www.photophile.de. Dee has kindly volunteered to take care of the page's administration.

Assignments

1. Please send a few sentences about yourself (a short biography) - basically whatever you are willing to share with the rest of the world - to Dee (dkfoto@gmx.de), and he will include it on the website. Deadline - Sunday, September 4!

2. Please also send a self-portrait to Dee to go with your bio! Deadline - Sunday, September 4

3. Photo assignment part 1 - our namesake. Due by next meeting, Tuesday, September 13

It was agreed that each one of us should submit one image to go with the name 'photophile'. We can either choose one to represent the group or alternate the images, whichever fits best.

4. Photo assignment part 2 - the photo hunt. Due by next meeting, Tuesday, September 13
Themes for this session are:

There is another thread on here mentioning an event where a 1000 cows come down from the mountains. It is a type of festival with locals in Lederhosen, dirndles and flower wearing cows!!! It is on the 10th Sept. Maybe this is a good photo opportunity to take up.

Yep, I am still around. I've been keeping it low the last weeks as it was back to work and things have been crazy.
