I'm flying to the states tomorrow with Iberia Airlines and I'm getting kinda nervous because I haven't heard many good things about them yet... anyone ever flown with them before?

Do they have monitors for every seat where u can select like 5 different movies? or just one monitor w/ one movie?

I think I flew Iberia to Santiago de Compostello in Spain, it was fine -nothing sticks out in memory - but it wasnt a very long flight.

They fly just above sea level - very entertaining skimming the waves when the pilots are having their siestas. Spanish autopilots also do siestas.

I flew to the Canaries with Iberia and had no problems. Typical national carrier. Dunno about the monitors, think it was 1 per couple of rows, but that would be different on the transatlantic flights anyway.

Flew to lisbon from Munich, and they lost my luggage. They took it to my hotel the next day, but it was all as clear as mud what was going on.

Flew to Buenos Aires from Madrid - they are complete and utter SHITE - crappy seats - ignorant staff - RATIONED water on an 11 hour flight - will never fly with them again. On long flights its better to pay a little more and not arrive with your back thrown out and massively dehydrated - I brought 5 litres of water with me for the return flight and drank every drop.

I flew with them from Amsterdam to Alicante. No complaints. The only airline I would not recommend is Cubana Airline
Keydeck
I've flown with them a couple of times to Malaga through Madrid & Barcelona. Had a few problems with cancelled flights due to rescheduling but that was because I'd booked my flights about 6 months in advance and these things happen. Apart from that no complaints. They're not a huge airline but get the job done.

ok thanx.

anyone know how I can figure out what type of plane we'll be on?

@erdbeere
is your iberia flight short or long haul? the plane info is usually on my itinerary. i'm actually flying with them tomorrow as well, but only to madrid. then i switch to AA for the big bit.
Keydeck
If you're flying out of Munich, have a look at the departures page and find your flight.

On the rigfht-hand side of the listing is a column for "Type" which indicates the aircraft. Click that and it'll tell you what you need to know about the plane in question.

@toast ...

I'm flying to JFK through madrid so short haul and long I guess. I checked our itinerary and it just has the flight number, no info about the plane.

if it's at stupid o'clock in the morning, then we may be on the same flights. in which case, it goes through american airlines for the long stretch- airbus (A340), i believe.
Keydeck
Your first leg is on an Airbus A320-200 (link) and the second leg is (I believe) on an Airbus A343.
