This weekend I am taking my significant other to the hills to teach him how to Snowboard (we just moved here) and he doesnt have any kit. Does anyone have anything for sale that they dont need anymore ski/snowboard clothing, goggles, gloves, boots etc?? Or do you know where there is a shop in Munich that sells this sort of thing second hand (keep costs down...)
Thanks,
Vanessa

err...I can't really help you there...I am trying to keep costs down as well, but having nice new gear sounds nice as well. You might want to check out Sport Scheck down at Ostbahnhof. They often have new stuff for second hand prices!

Well, there is the obvious
Ebay. Can't check the merchandise first, but use common sense and check the person's rating.
Otherwise, there is a
second-hand sports shop right beside Cinema on Nyphembergstr. Don't know the name or street number, but you can't miss it.
But really, I want to tell you to rent all the equipment at the hill. Your SO may decide that they HATE snowboarding and don't want to try it ever again. Besides, you'll get good equipment that fits them, rather than a mish-mash of stuff.

I would advise NOT to go to the Second hand sports on Nymphenburger Str.
I was there when I wanted to buy a snowboard. The store has not a very large assortment and he tries to sell you any board he has.
and by the way: it's not necessarilly cheaper!!

if you know what you want, Kurz & Fündig Magazine is one of the best with ooddles of pages of boards and skis... i personaly would rent boots and skis for a beginner, as you can then have something which is easier to handle and use, but your not stuck with it. clothing wise, a good ski/snowboard jacket can be used in munich all winter and you can also use a good pair of ski/snowboard trousers too for sledging or running down to the shops in minus 15 degrees, which according to all those cunning weather predictors with their bauernregel we'll be getting this winter, so i wouldn't consider second hand, but there are deals all over the place.

You get the best deals at the school bazaars (including MIS and BIS), especially German school bazaars (where the Germans cast off their last-years top-of-the-range kit for next to nothing...
Might be a bit late for this year, however...

Apparantly
Aldi are getting in a load of Ski gear(Jackets/Pants) this Thursday. I need some more pants, the other ones I have are too big.
Two weeks back they had snowboarding gear, I picked up a Jacket & Pants for 47€, so it should be about the same for the ski gear as well.

Cheers

Go get a board from last season.
I just bought a Scott Eclipse from last season for 280e instead of 450e.
If that is too much, I am selling my old one for 30 bucks.
(Nitro Nova 156 (or 154 dont remember)
