Hiya
I went to Nordbad last night to the Damensauna and it were loooovely.
There are a few specials during January and February:
8pm Aufguss 90c Sauna with ecualuptus and ice mint
8:30pm Salt (self-)scrub steam room, seas salt with peppermint oil
9pm 90c Honey Sauna with honey/coriander scrub and honey Aufguss
It was just plain aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh and not too crowded either.
All of that for a bargainous 11.30€ for 4 hour ticket (inc. swimming).
Highly recommended and I'm going again next week. Any females that want to come with me are very welcome.
Actually a few of the ladies asked if I would be coming back - should I worry? Katrina

Yeah made me look, but i reckon it should be banned as false advertising!! But i am sad though as every time i go to Nordbad Sauna it's chokka block...i reckon there should be a just for 22-35 group only day! Just to keep the numbers down. And non of those wrinkly lecherous types, even i notice how they look at the women in there...ewwwwww

Actually a few of the ladies asked if I would be coming back - should I worry?
Maybe you should, why do you think they only go on Damen tag?
Katrina
Live = as in not dead
Red Hot = well the sauna was 90C
All Girl = i.e. no men
Action = erm, scrubbing with the salt?
So it was sort of true?
I go on mixed days with Herr Indoors is with me but prefer to go to the women-only ones when I'm on my own. Therme Erding tends to have a younger crowd and less starers but it is more expensive and harder to get to (for me at least).
And I'm ok with the lesbitarians, it was the post-op transsexual that was getting all the look last night!

Well I fell for that one hook line and sinker.

Women only? No chance then of at least a viewing area for the men?

And I keep trying to time my workouts-sauna time with the ending of those ladies' aerobic classes so'sn we all end up in the steamy room 'zusammen' but it hasn't worked out that way yet.
My gym is also close to Nordbad but it is usually pretty empty and I plan to keep it that way by not telling all 550 members and 1000+ daily viewers of TT. btw -too many men there already, but if any ladies want to ask where it is...
Gee, I sound like a broken record. But this is the topic at hand.
Lottie
Katrina, did the ladies clap after the Sauna attendant had done the honours with the ecualuptus and ice mint? I find that Germans clapping in the Sauna after an Aufguss is almost as embarassing as them clapping a pilot's successful landing.
Katrina
No, but they do in Therme Erding (where clapping while the man is whirling his towel is also a must).
Katrina
PS does anyone want to come along this week? PM me.
Keydeck
Sorry Lottie, help me out here. What's an Aufguss? My dictionary claims it to be either an extraction or an infusion. Neither of which sound particularly pleasant.
michnic
Aufguss isn't steam?

Katrina, I love going to Nordbad but I'm still very American when it comes to nudity. It's okay for me to go with my boyfriend as he's the only person I can picture myself hanging out <koff> with in the buff. Everyone else is a stranger and I can ignore them and hope they're ignoring me.

But since I think I've only met you once (if at all?--were you at GNO? There were three Kat's there), I'm having a hard time picturing a "getting to know you" conversation sans clothing.

But maybe in the future...
Lottie
Aufguss is where they pour scented water on the hot coals to make the air hotter and, umm, scented. They do it every hour or so. The attendant comes in with a wooden bucket and ladle, pours on the water, then swirls a towel around her head to spread the steam. The sudden rush of hot steam on my tender naked body always brings me out in goosebumps. But I always find myself dreading the inevitable clapping which comes next. It feels rude not to clap so I always make this half hearted attempt which is pretty lame really.

I've no idea what the correct "dictionarial" translation for Aufguss is, but the above is my interpretation.
Keydeck
Thanks for the clarification Lottie.

ecualuptus and ice mint, salt scrub steam room, sea salt with peppermint oil, Honey Sauna with honey/coriander scrub...oh, my. it sounds soooooo wonderful, but i'm even more backwards than michnic. i can't even bring myself to go with pao...but i want to so bad!

tell me katrina, how much actual nudity is there? i mean, i know you have a towel for walking around, so when are you totally naked? i have no sauna experience yet.

i really want to tell you that i'd join you this week, but i'm having a hard time!
Katrina
Aufguss is when water (sometimes with scented oils but not always) is added to the stones of the sauna increasing the humidity (but not the temperature, even though you think that it is hotter, the temperature stays about the same) of the sauna. The staff member doing the Aufguss will do 2-3 circuits, ladling the water onto the stones then swinging a towel around to circulate the hot damp air.
It really makes you sweat and is very nice (if a bit strenuous). So Lottie is spot on. As for Erguss
For Michnic, I was at the first GNO, do you ever go to the Tuesday things?
Katrina
randy
You can wear a towel the entire time if you prefer, Hellcat. It's not common to do so, but not freakish either. The crystal room in the back of Nordbad has a couple of dark raised corners as well, if you prefer a bit of modesty (but only a bit). Plus it's quite relaxing.

Re:

Hmmm... hmm...can't quite picture that - can you be more vivid?
Katrina
Randy is right, you can have your towel up in the sauna, there are shower cabinets if you don't want to use the open showers but in the plunge pools etc they are nude only.
I do like that chrystal sauna too especially when they have the birdsong tape playing aaaaah.
I was extactly the same to start with, really freaked out by NUDE! PEOPLE! ARRRRGG!
Maybe I've been here too long?
