how come people in the first list shown don't always show up in the karma by members list? I gave the UF'ers +karma for coming out the other day and playing in the mud, and one of the people didn't show up on the list... now they show up on the first list displayed, but when I click over, they are not listed on the karma by memberlist page...? I'm probably just screwed up in the head from last night, but still... just kinda wondering.

Okay, it's a little early to start drinking, but after the anxiety attack I just had, after having learned that for the second day in a row, somebody gave me a negative Karma point for my oh-so-offensive posts, I just had to down a straight vodka to keep myself from hyperventilating myself into a full-blown asthma attack. I'm feeling much better now.

That was a close one. I just don't know what I'm going to do, knowing that my Karma stands at a measly positive 5 points. Then again, perhaps that's enough to keep me from living my next life as a shoelace...

I don't like the new format. First I would like the link to go straight to Karma ratings by member cuz the fun is in numbers. Then I don't like the Negative Karma and Heavy negative Karma categories. I am a visual guy and I like colors. The previous green to red was good and I like to see everybody all the way to the bottom of the table.

How about making the amount of karma you can give out related to the karma you have. So trolls etc, that just annoy people and collect negative karma shouldnt be able to add karma to other trolls and subtract it from responsible insightful posters. And people who have been rewarded by their peers with positive karma for making insightful responsible posts should have more influence in who gets what karma.

So if you have 5 karma, you can give out 5 per day, say, and if you have 0 or less, you cant give it out... Its like how they do it on slashdot and it works well there.

I dont think anybody really cares about this Karma thingy. It is just a game right now with a few fighting for the top 3-5 places.

It's interesting, although it does make me wonder how many people are spending their day clicking karma and not actually reading or contributing information.

I don't know how, but now am among top 20... I mean at 20th place...

How often is the record updated? I gave some karmas earlier (for the first time in a few days), and they're not on the list at all. You'd think that if there's a +0 on the positive list and a -1 on the negative list that it wouldn't take much to get on it. Or are there just lots and lots of +0s and -1s and only one of each are actually making it to the list?

I dont like current karma format. I like to see the entire table in colors like it was before with everybody included.

we should be allowed to hand out Karma willy nilly as much as we please just like in real life.

IPJ - your English to English translations are getting much better. Have you been working on it? Or does it come naturally.

It would make a bit more sense to leave the total one can give unendlich while restricting the number one can give each person. That way nobody gets slammed by the *cough* stupid few.

yes, but if a TTer's being continually annoying then it's good to be be able to continually give them bad Karma.
I think at the moment you can't Karma-ise the same person twice in 24 hours.

@IPJ Hmmm maybe, but theres only so many people on here, once you have karmed everyone it would be game over and since its supposed to be a per post rather than a per person thing, I definitly think each person should only be able to karma any POST once.

Ok BR and icemocha, I've reread what I wrote and it's still crystal clear to me. Where's the confusion? I see some singulars where they might make sense as plurals, but aside from that, there's nothing else wrong with what I said.

@OG because trolls are currently allowed to vote too. People with negative karma shouldnt be able to vote, and then the system would be used more responsibly, i.e. people would vote per post rather than according some vendetta.

IPJ, right now even if someone gave you -ve nobody can see. Thats why I like the old fromat.
