The Streetlife Festival happens this weekend. I just thought I would post something about it since it means Leopoldstrasse will be shut. This might be an alternative for people looking for something to do on the weekend - other than a beer garden!

I took a quick look but got lost in the site...does anyone know where they close it off from/to? We usually cut across Leopoldstr. at Gieslastr. to go to the Englischer Garten on the weekend. Will it still be possible? (I have never seen or been to this fest so it is not obvious to me)

I think they close it off (for cars) from Münchner Freiheit till Schellingstrasse. But I assume you'll be biking across Leopoldstrasse. ..which should be no problem. Just make sure you swerve around the staggering, drunken people.

This weekend (3-4 Sep) the Streetlife Festival returns to Schwabing. For the entire weekend Leopoldstrasse between Münchner Freiheit and Odeonsplatz will be closed to traffic. The street will be filled with concert stages, artists, food and drink stalls, bouncy castles, and all sorts of other festival entertainments.

This street festival happens twice a year, once in July, once in September. The July event was great given that it was about the hottest weather all year. The forecast for this weekend is not so good, but fingers crossed!

Günther Murphy's
On Saturday and Sunday the Streetlife Festival is on.

This year we (Günther Murphy's Irish Pub) have a big bar and stage, right on the Leopoldstrasse - opposite Burger King. We will be showing the World Cup qualifiers Wales v England, and Scotland v Italy on a big screen. Followed by open air karaoke. Last year there were 250,000 visitors and you can party on the street till 2am.

On Sunday we will have live music from Felicious from 2-4pm and then Jerrold will be doing more Karaoke.

We will be doing Guinness, Kilkenny, Strongbow and great beer from wooden barrels!

Hope to see a few TT'ers over the weekend!

Dear Gunter Murphy's staff,

I drank enough Guinness at your place last night to feed a 3rd world country. The Hot Chilli Vodka ROCKS!

See you gang at the Karoke this weekend. Yippy!

I went to this fest last year. It was really fun, especially watching the street preformers. If you're looking for something to do this weekend, I recommend heading over.

Cracking idea. Think there could be a few of us heading down for the footy... Weather permitting.

Weather is good, lots happening on the street. Still time for people to go if interested.

I´m heading down to check it out...if it´s not too late. @IW What´re you on`n about!? You´re a great singer, specifically remember your gig at New Years in The Arc biggrin.gif

It's only on today until 21:00 if I am not mistaken... I went yesterday and spent the whole night watching Karaoke! Was so funny, especially some stocky English guy in football top singing with a beer in his hand - his dancing was well funny! (I think he's a TT member too... in fact probably most of those participating were TT members smile.gif

Anyone else go last night?

@InflatableWoman, what did you sing?

Anyone got photos or videos online from this event?
