I have a newbie American in town that is just fresh lookin to get connected. I told him to definitely check out Toytown. (but of course.)

Anyway, he doesn't have any internet connection -- any suggestions as to where one should go for an internet cafe?

Try CAST on Leopoldstrasse in Schwabing. Wireless 802.11G, good food, nice people, english-speaking...

There is one in the Motorama shopping center attached to the Rosenheimer Platz S-bahn station. It's at the far end (away from the station). Don't know if they have wireless b/c I only used their PC's.

All the beer gardens in the English Garden have internet WLAN access, but the liitle close to the university is free. But you have to have WLAN.

There's actually a clothes washing place that offers free Wi-Fi access while you do your laundry - on Lindwurmstr, a few blocks up from Poccistr. U-bahn heading towards Harras / Pfeuferstr. Its beside a Jaques Wein Depot I think.

Always thought this was a pretty cool idea.

Hello,

I am going to have a job interview (phone) in January and also need to be online, the interviewers want to see, in real time, the answers I will be typing. Problem is that I moved to Munich recently and have not got an apartment, so no internet access at home. I have it in my office but the boss is in the same room...

I am looking for internet cafe somewhere around the center, with good PCs and internet, separate rooms, no noise etc.

any suggestions, ideas?

Thanks, Lev

I was about to shout 'Easyjet Cafe'! until I read the 'separate rooms, no noise' aspect... not sure if they do that but you could always check. They're at Hauptbahnhof opposite the main entrance next to the post office.

The info centres at the airport are smallish and somewhat quiet - not sure about the webcam though.

Noticed the other day that EasyEverything opposite Hauptbahnhof has closed down. However there is a Coffee Fellows with a large internet cafe upstairs just a few yards away at Schützenstr. 14 (map). They're open until 11.30pm (1am at weekends).

There is an internet cafe I've found since being here which is great value for money.

The name is something basic like "internet call shop". If you walk from Marienplatz up Weinstraße (as if towards Odeonsplatz) and then take the first left onto Sporerstraße it's 2 shops on the right.

Last time I was there it cost:
50 cents - 10 minutes
1 euro - 30 minutes
2 euro - 1 hour

The great thing about this place is that when you pay, you get a username and a password. If you don't use all your time you can log off and then use the remaining time whenever you want within 30 days.

It's also open 24 hours with printing, fax and copying services. Smoking room upstairs seperated by glass walls and doors.

Last time I was in the Shamrock (Trautenwolfstr-Schwabing) they had free internet access.
