Every second Saturday we meet in a Beerhall or Pub to speak English. This event is open to anyone from anywhere who wants to spend the evening getting to know a mixed international crowd in English.

The next meeting will take place on:

Saturday the 15th of November 2003
7.00pm
Lowenbraukeller am Stiglmeierplatz
Nymphenburger Strasse 2
U1 Stiglmeierplatz

A room has been reserved for "The English/German Stammtisch" for 7.00pm for 40 people. We are not where we were two weeks ago.

Last time we had a lot of new faces, and this event looks like being just as sucessful during the winter months as it was in the Summer.

Looking forward to seeing you all.
Jeff.

Hi,

I managed to leave my coat behind in my drunken stupor after the Stammtisch...
Just wondering if anyone saw it - its a black and made of wool. I think Cliff
hung it up for me on the metal hooks in our room.

cheers,
sparty
Then you must have been pissed!! It wasn't that warm outside...
dodge
yeah, impressive drinking skills eh?

Give em a ring +4989526021

Ask for Frau Bauer. She took the reservation and is very helpful.
In two weeks we are having the event there again so if you can't make it before perhaps they'll keep it for you.

Cheers

Jeff

usually there are some posts after an event from the people who were there...I wasn't there, so how was it?
Nighthawk
It was a bit tight. We had 45 people and the room we had was not big enough.
Next time they're giving us a really good room with plenty of space for everybody
If everyone is happy with it I'll reserve the room for all the subsequent meetings

Cheers

Jeff

Hi,

well..I just subscribed and I'd like to ask if there'll be another Stammtisch on November 29th. Would be great. I'm German and always glad to improve my English. I read you had a discussion some time ago about accents and I have to say I love Scottish accents, especially Glaswegian. Alright, bye then.
Karen
Dear Pippin,

yes, there'll be a Stammtisch this Saturday. Nighthawk posts the details later this week.

CU,
Karen

P

I'll be up for the Stammtish I think, unless I'm clubbed out after Friday night.

@pootle - remember that if you work in creative job, the odd night on the booze is necessary to keep up your productivity.

Although I spilled loads of beer (disaster!)blink.gif I really had a good time. So what's the plan about next time? Different location?
Maybe a proper pub where not everybody is stuck to his chair and where it's easier to mingle with other pepople and to talk to anybody you want to.

@Jenny
We'll try another place next time
The last time for this year
Maybe we'll get the missing 15

And the toilets aren't at the end of the world

HAwk
Hazza
It's hardly a Stammtisch if you keep moving the location!! tongue.gif
Nighthawk
@Hazza No it's the people that make the event not the location and I don't feel I've found the ideal indoor location yet.

Next time we're in Bondi Austrailian bar per reservation yesterday at the same time there is some sort of party going on there

Should be interesting for the last meeting this year

Jeff
sparty
isn't that Bondi's birthday party?
Hazza
I know - I was joking wink.gif
Malcolm Spudbury
Well, not to be pedantic or anything, but a Stammtisch is, by definition, always in the same place.

http://www.wordreference.com/de/en/transla...deen=stammtisch

Furthermore, it would only be a true Bavarian Stammtisch if it's a regular gathering of the same 20 people for the same 20 years and there's brass plaque above the table with the words "Stammtisch - Nighthawk" engraved on it.

*grabs Jordigo's coat and legs it*
Nighthawk
Well ist going to be full there...
There are two other events from Toytown that night there
