There should be no laws that interfere with your personal life (drugs, alcohol, polygamy, gay marriage, abortion, etc etc etc) (at least unpopular in my College Town)
Feminists are women obsessed with success, and they use discrimination to justify their failure.
It's stupid to force College athletes to study.

You could try www.fischbacher.net/ as they sell all sorts of that stuff, ranging from rings to flags. I dont think they will have it on their website though but its only a 2 hour drive from here. You could try standing around in an Antik store in Berchtesgarden and wait for an old lady in the store to whisper to you in English "I have antiks from the war in the back room" as happened to my father in law and I.

SO, since we're banning smoking in all public places (slowly but surely), we need to make them "kids allowed" areas. All restaurants that had a smoking section are then required to make it a kids section where the smokers used to be. If you have kids (with you), you are not allowed to sit anywhere but that section. Then, finally, someone will be able to enjoy their goddamn meal.

Handicap Parking should be near the back of the parking lots and not in the front.
People should only be imprisoned when they have done a violent crime.
Women/Men with prams should allow people to enter into the Straßebahn and U-Bahn before them. Otherwise they just stand in the entry way preventing everyone from entering.

I really disliked Mother Teresa and think she was running a scam.
She received millions upon millions of dollars in donations over many years but never even set up one fully working hospital for the dying she supposedly cared for so much. A few of hospices where the sick could go to die without doctors, just a bunch of untrained nuns was taking the piss as far as I'm concerned.

GM soya saved us, says angry Argentina after 'superweed' claim
Headlines in Britain last week claimed that genetically modified crops were proving disastrous in South America - but local farmers say they have transformed their lives...
The claims have prompted an angry reaction in the South American country, where GM crops have been embraced enthusiastically. Argenbio, Argentina's council for biotechnology, led the protests, arguing that GM soya had enabled farmers to avoid a cocktail of chemicals that threatened the crop and, in some cases, damaged the health of farm workers and livestock, causing skin rashes and respiratory problems.

Randomly throwing one in here . . . . .
A particularly unpopular opinion of mine was telling my lesbian sister that I think lesbians shouldn't be allowed to have children, (she was on IVF treatment trying for a baby!) and that clam jousting does not produce babies.
I did buy her a 12" pink translucent double ender for Christmas that year from Erotic Land on Frankfurter Ring but I don't think it helped much.
Incidentally this is true. If you knew my family you'd understand. Maybe someone could start a thread about this because I'd be interested to know what most people think on this subject.

Abortion: I am so tired of extremists from both sides. Though I believe that life starts at conception, that does not in any way negate my strong belief that abortion needs to be available. I don't hear the clamor or see the serious division over this issue in Germany that I do in the States. Perhaps it is because IMO they have opted for reasonable middle ground.
The pro-choice camp has need to be willing to admit that some constraints are reasonable, and stop screaming that they are "chipping away at our rights". Perhaps some of these rights are extreme and need to be reassessed. They also need to stop framing abortion as a totally benign procedure with no consequences. Though there are many women who will forever know they made the right choice for them, there are also women who suffer serious depression, guilt and regret. We can't pretend this does not exist.
The right to lifers need to grasp that the vast majority out there do not agree with them and will never conform to their views. As much as they may want it, premarital sex and abortion ain't going away. Their disconnect between wanting less abortions and yet supporting bans on the teaching of sex-ed and use of birth control, is simply cutting off your nose to spite your face. I would assume if they wanted to pick the lesser of their two perceived evils it would mean supporting birth control to decrease abortions.
My views...
1) If you haven't figured out by 14 weeks that you don't want to have the baby too bad. But after 15 weeks it is too late for an elective termination. (I believe this is the cut off in Germany).
2) Second trimester terminations should only be available if the baby is determined to be abnormal, rape/incest, and if the life of the mother is at risk. (Baby fully formed - no longer a relatively simple d&C)
2) Counseling: People are paniced when they become pregnant when they don't want to. Not all are so educated or resourceful, and may actually need to hear what their potential options are and services available to them.
3) All teens under 16 should have parental notification unless determined by a medical person or judge to be at risk from disclosure. If not, you are expecting children to deal with these huge life decisions and fallout with little or no support. However, parental notification should not mean the child has to comply with the parents wishes, and they should be able to receive termination even if the parents are against it.
