I'll start.

I first came up with this theory about 4 years ago, and whenever I mention it at best I get a bemused look and at worst I get laughed at. See, I have this opinion that Europe will be at war in 2015, and I even know who will be on what side. The theory I have was based on a simple pattern, but its backed up by geo-political behaviour too. Want to know more? Well here are the main dudes in Europe slogging it out...

Its not so far fetched, that this could happen. The UK is closely tied to the US, and if the US keeps throwing its weight around, then tensions could build as they did around the time of the Iraq war. France is not fully intergrated into NATO and has not been since 1966 or something like that. Germany is looking into getting a professional army and removing NATO forces from the country. See it could all happen, I could go on all day about stuff like the single currency, the singing of Elise songs on German TV shows but I have to work.

No, I honestly hold that opinion.

I gave up on the karma war cause the management doesnt play fair, so I thought I would come up with a semi-interesting thread for a Friday.

Oooh another unpopular opinion of mine... (which I honestly believe)

All food that comes out of the sea/water is disgusting. I dont eat any fish, crustation or squidgey thing that comes out of the sea. I hate all sea food. Nothing wrong with that you say? Well, the reason I dont is cause of the sewage that gets pumped into the sea... most specificially tampons and sanitary towels. I used to eat fish, but on a holiday to Santander in Spain one year, I got chased by a floater and a used tampon that had come out of a sewage pipe I had obviously swam near too. Since then, I dont eat any sea food. I voice that opinion and people roll their eyes, but god it was disgusting.

So I dont eat sea food because of used tampons.

Come on, share!!!

So I guess I should pick which side I am on before 2015.

As for unpopular opinions.. this wont be popular on this board but I am in favor of being able to own a handgun or if I choose, an automatic weapon.

I think the war thing is possible. The amount of boys born between 1995 and 2002 was (in my unstatstical observation of my acquaintances) higher than normal, therefore indicating that there will be a war 20 years down the road. (Can't remember where I first heard that, but it was way before I had kids).

Bummed about that since I have two boys.

1. Most unpopular opinion of mine (on this board) is easily that the justice system of many Western countries is sincerely biased against males. In other countries it is sincerely biased against females (Sharia law).

2. Circumcision of both sexes is genital mutilation. I absolutely hold the position that it is institutionalised sexual abuse to remove healthy tissue of another's sexual organs without their expressed consent.

3. The government's role is society should be confined purely to equitable treatment of it's citzens and facilitation of wealth generation - by equitable I mean that it should not engage in wealth redistribution since this neccessarily implies unequal treatment. Those that feel otherwise should be encouraged to contribute as much as they wish to others but at their own discretion.

4. The right to death is just as important as the right to life. People should be afforded and encouraged to terminate their lives with dignity before the onset of debilitation/senility.

5. Animals should be far more respected than at present , particulary those which are at/above a certain level of intelligence - I refer especially to the apes.

You omit the important word "other" before "countries" within your first statement. Presumably this is an unintended omission on your part.

I honestly believe that people with a higher education should have higher voting value (not necessarily college degrees). There should be a test to check how knowlegable, ignorant, racist... you are, and depending on your result your vote counts as 0, 0.5, 1, or 2.
That way shit leaders that give crap promises to the poor and illiterate cannot get voted by the majority, which in most cases are...

Along the same lines...

Britain should abandon the European Union and move toward a political union of all English speaking nations. Including Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and maybe other nations such as India should be included. Similar to the empire, but more democratic and de-centralised in nature.

I think people who collect 'welfar' should actually have to pay it back in work, at hospitals, cleaning the streets, or daycares- this way they learn a trade, and they are working in Government agencies. (in Canada- they are all subsidised).

Sending aid to Africa doesnt fix any problems in the region, it merely props up governments that might be over thrown should the people be desperate enough to revolt.

Cardboard is sexually attractive and also can be used for packaging.

Anyone that "collects" anything as a hobby (apart from notches on bedposts, motorbikes or porn videos) is probably a wanker.

Opinions that have gotten me in trouble:

- in general, if a music band is popular, then their music must suck.

- large cities should have a noticable level of crime (to make things exciting).

- suburbia is waiting area for the cemetary.

- cars / automobiles are evil. similarly, cars kill cities.

- the only people that should own a truck are: farmers, construction workers, and people that need one for their work / company (like construction, farming, delivery).

- it might have been better if the US had allowed Texas and some other southern states to ceceed from The Union.

- English spelling rule should be ignored, untill the day when a sensible new system is established (i guess this would be simmilar to the german Rechtschreibung thing). Every language should be cleaned-up after each century or so. (besides, my spelling sucks, I need a excuse).

I will keep my other unpopular political opinions to myself, thankyou.

oh yea, I forgot:

- Dogs are better than cats.
