I usually buy my contacts online or in the US but I'm out and need a couple in a pinch.
As I understand it I can go to any Apotheke with my diameter, curve and perscription and get some right? My concern is that I'm looking for a brand that is uncommon (but not unheard of) in Germany thus seeking a contact lense specialist with a wide selection.
Can anyone recommend a place, ideally in the stretch between Universität and Josephsplatz?

Many places are quite strict with conact lenses and insist on a prescription from the last 12 months.
I did notice however that Walmart are now selling contact lenses and you can just pick them up off the shelf.

According to Dr. Warner, you can get contacts now
at Schlecker. Maybe not all, but the big ones are likely.
But wear your glasses. Glasses on men are
sexy.

Shoot. Dark short-haired engineer in glasses would have been dreamy.

strange. I tried typing what you suggested, showem, into the schlecker search field and all I got was an (extensive) selection of toilet bowl cleaners...

There are two opticians between gisela str and

While it won't help your immediate need, there is also
this site for buying in Germany online. Not tried it yet though.
edit: which schlecker did you find them at Topsy?

i asked the nice lady in the shop - you have to order tehm, either online or in the shops, according to her
she reckoned none of the stores carry stocks
so not very good news, sadly

I got mine on Teng strasse near Josephsplatz - don't remember the brand (Just ask Johnny!). They were monthly lenses that I have had in 6months now (not continuously) without any problems at all. And I have worn them on the plane and stuff. Schwabrillion on Tengstrase.

Wörle Optikstudio in Augustenstraße specialises in contact lenses. I need special lenses too and can really recommend this optician.
