Contact lens shops near Universität, Schwabing

Any recommendations?

I usually buy my contacts online or in the US but I'm out and need a couple in a pinch.

As I understand it I can go to any Apotheke with my diameter, curve and perscription and get some right? My concern is that I'm looking for a brand that is uncommon (but not unheard of) in Germany thus seeking a contact lense specialist with a wide selection.

Can anyone recommend a place, ideally in the stretch between Universität and Josephsplatz?
Topsy

Well I do look just like him...

Many places are quite strict with conact lenses and insist on a prescription from the last 12 months.

I did notice however that Walmart are now selling contact lenses and you can just pick them up off the shelf.
Showem
According to Dr. Warner, you can get contacts now at Schlecker. Maybe not all, but the big ones are likely.

But wear your glasses. Glasses on men are sexy.
DrivinWest
But I gots no glasses. Haven't had them in a while...
Showem
Shoot. Dark short-haired engineer in glasses would have been dreamy.

I did find this old pic of me:

Showem
DrivinWest, what happened? You were such a good looking kid! Well, comparatively...
butterbean
strange. I tried typing what you suggested, showem, into the schlecker search field and all I got was an (extensive) selection of toilet bowl cleaners... huh.gif

There are two opticians between gisela str and Münchner Freiheit. Both sell lenses of all sorts.
Topsy
just get them at schlecker if you've got standrad peepers, i would
thy've got packs of 90 one-day connies for 50 euros
you just can't go wrong, surely
butterbean
While it won't help your immediate need, there is also this site for buying in Germany online. Not tried it yet though.

edit: which schlecker did you find them at Topsy?

Topsy
really?
never heard 'em called that
the price range would be about the same, though, no?
DrivinWest
Thanks all! I'd like to 2nd butterbean's request for which Schlecker sells them. That looks to be my best bet for today.
Topsy
mmm - well, i found them online, but dunno about the actual shop shops
middle coulumn of "spezial shops", third from the top
i'll be walking past a coupl of schleckers in the next hour or so on one of my daily strolls, so i'll have a quick look or ask the nice lady
won't be able to report back until about 2.30, though
DrivinWest
@ Topsy

Thanks so much!
Topsy
i asked the nice lady in the shop - you have to order tehm, either online or in the shops, according to her
she reckoned none of the stores carry stocks
so not very good news, sadly sad.gif

I got mine on Teng strasse near Josephsplatz - don't remember the brand (Just ask Johnny!). They were monthly lenses that I have had in 6months now (not continuously) without any problems at all. And I have worn them on the plane and stuff. Schwabrillion on Tengstrase.
chloe
Order them online on www.linsensuppe.de

Wörle Optikstudio in Augustenstraße specialises in contact lenses. I need special lenses too and can really recommend this optician.
