Everybody brings a music CD. The rules are:
1. Must be pre-wrapped to cover the contents (anything you like - tinfoil/plastic bag/bog roll etc)
2. Must be in good working order - no scratched discs, missing album cover etc.
3. No ripped CDs. Must be the real thing.
All entries go into the lucky dip bin. And then you get to select a new album!!!
Sounds perfect fun to me. Even better if it is somewhere that will allow us to play a few tracks after the selection!

Some friends of mine run a similar scheme but it allows burned CDs. You get at random 2 addresses sent to you of particpants whom you said send a CD you've made and of course you get 2 random CDs sent to you. Works pretty well and cheaper than buying new CDs. Though I did see some €1.99 "Deutschland Super Hits"

at Schlecker this lunchtime!

burned cd's is better, then you can donate something that you love and want to share, rather than the stuff you don't like. it's a bit naughty, though
...althoguh i suppose some people on this forum are completely loaded and might buy copies of cd's that they love specially to pass on to their fellow tt'ers

Yeah but it seems that one man's meat is another's poison around here for music. If I found a Dollie Parton CD in my drawer it would be in the bin quicker than a rat up a drainpipe - but some TT'ers would clearly fight to get their hands on it. Likewise anything by Simply Red is not fit for burning.
Might find of course there was some swapping going on after the event!

Some Dolly parton's OK, slap in a bit of a HiNRG remix and you're laughing. same with Celine, best version I ever heard was a house remix of that Titanic song. It wasn't even in a club but my skanky local back home!
But aye, kill Simply Red.
Bit busy at the mo but might be up for some music swapping.

why don't you guys do this at the
Bookswap on Sunday? Of course, as it's being held in a bar / restaurant, it would be good if you only brought legal stuff for that one. I'm in a seminar at that time or else I'd have some old tapes to bring, stuff that I've since bought on CD...
