Where to buy?

Does anyone know where to find wheat grass. I want to try it and see if it helps with my iron deficiency. I have looked in the local health food store (Vitalia), but they don't carry it. It's a product that I see all the time back in the states, so I am kind of surprised that I haven't been able to find it in super health conscious germany. It has so many benefits including:

neutralizing toxins and carcinogens in the body
improving blood sugar disorders
helping prevent tooth decay
increasing hemoglobin production
keeping hair from graying
improving digestion
reducing high blood pressure
aiding in the prevention and curing of cancer

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Before I start, I promise this is NOT a flippant reply, but whilst you are looking for wheatgrass, get some Guinness in. I've got a bit of a vitamin B deficiency apparently, and fortunately weissbier's full of it. Its great having to drink beer "for medical reasons", and Guiness is full of iron - take advantage!

try the juice stand at Viktualienmarkt. Juice stands are the only places I've ever seen wheatgrass in the US, but then I've been gone a long time.

Or eat more raisins.

There is a big Bio shop/grocer on Westenriederstr by the Viktualien markt, and they have a huge selection of stuff... its worth a try.
Is it the same as Wiezen Kleie? huh.gif I got that at the Reform house.

@Tinys: Are you looking for the powder, as opposed to the straight juice? I'd been trying to find the wheat grass powder, and finally located some at a Bio store right around the Isartor S-Bahn station. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it, but if I do, I'll post it.

I found wheatgrass at a health food store next to the Tchibo by Viktualienmarkt (near the new Starbucks going in). It was called weizengras or weizengraz. They (I think it was Vitalia) sold it in powder form.

Thanks everyone, I guess I am off to Viktualienmarkt.
By the way just in case anyone is wondering; I already eat a lot of raisins and spinach but for some reason I am still anemic, I also take iron in pill form.I guess my body has trouble absorbing it, I reckon a lot of trouble because I take Vitamin C which is supposed to help. Anyway, wheatgrass is kinda like a last resort here or else I am going to have to seek medical treatment (although I have already had it). I have a really hard time keeping my iron levels up. So I'll just stock up on Guiness until I can get the Wheat grass.
It is indeed called Weizengras just to confirm it for anyone wondering. Thanks again.

Parsley is actually high in iron. Add that to almost anything you eat to get a boost that is natural and tastes good. It may not do all those other things, but it is good. You should also add niacin and folic acid to your diet as they help with the iron.

Spinach is not as high in iron as people think. You get more iron eating a medium potato with the skin on than from a cup of cooked spinach.

There's a nice chart of high-iron foods listed here:
