Wednesday karaoke nights @ Kuhstall - Optimolwerke - Munich

A mate of mine is starting a Karaoke evening tonight if anybody is interested . . . . . . . read on

"I have organised a weekly WEDNESDAY Karaoke evening at the Kuhstall at
Optimol (Kultfabrik) starting TONIGHT.

I'll be trying out my new computer-based Karaoke system with over
3,000 songs to choose from.

So if you feel in the mood to lend some support to this new enterprise, sing
some songs, or simply make fun of the complete chaos I will probably be in
the middle of, come on down tonight and bring some friends. We'll start
at about 21:30 and see how it goes, but there should be a chance to sing
shed-loads of songs (including such classics as "Star Trekkin" by the
firm and "The Winkers Song" by Ivor Biggun).

I had my first got at Karaoke last month and was predictably quite shite.

Is there software for the PC so u can hook up a microphone and actually practise. Fortunately I work in the office alone!!!

Aidrian (doing the Karaoke) has developed the software after discusions with various bars for music with graphics/videos and has apparently developed it further for Karaoke.

I haven't seen it yet so tonight should be interesting ....

Last night was a bit slow to begin with but ended up a good evening finishing at about 2:30. Great sound system and a cool little bar. The 3 blokes kissing in the corner was a bit disconcerting though!!!

I spoke to Adrian and he'll even come and install it for you mate!

If this lasts I will try to get down there some time, but only for the singing.

It should last if there's enough support. Adrian's keen and so's the owner. He wanted to carry on the Wednesday nights now Bondi is closed. He did approach certain a Irish/Aussie bar and they didn't take him seriously, so we'll see how it goes.

Quick update to let you know what's happening.

Last week after a quiet first time the week before, things picked up. It started to get busy at about 11pm and it would have kept going but we had to say "enough is enough". That was at 5am and it was still busy!!! (Don't these people have jobs to go to or what?)

AND just to add to the chaos this week I've been stitched with doing it because the guy that normally runs it is on holiday for 2 weeks.

Hopefully this week will be even better . . ......

Just looked at this thread again & yes it is still a goer. I gave it up cos it kept going till 5 in the morning sometimes & it was getting in the way of work. (I couldn't get up for work basically). Me mate still runs it & has some help from another guy and it is a good night out if you live nearby or don't have work the next day. It's open end . . . ......
