Out of interest, does anyone know where all the masts are located in TT?

I do belive the operators must register there location with REG-TP, perhaps you
can get that info from them. If you checkout their web site you cand find lots of
info. about what kinds of anttena are where..

You often don't see them becasue of the angle but they are on top of the standard 5/6 storey inner Munich bloks of flats.
Note: For German citizens, there's a Bavaria wide referendum potentially coming up soon to restrict them.

On a slight tangent from the topic...do they do that (I think it's called this) broadcasting? Tells you on the display of your phone which area you are in?
There are also smaller cells located in larger buildings, Ubahn etc.

@timmeh - u r referring to location based services and to my knowledge operators do provide them.
as regards broadcasting, actually its required to be done and all base stations poll the phones in their area always.

I'm really not too sure what I'm reffering to, but what I mean is when I was back in Aotearoa, as I would drive through the city, the names of the suburbs would change on my display. Is that what you mean by location based services? Is it something you just have to turn on in the option menu on the phone?

Going to the website posted by DK I checked out my PLZ.
I don't like the location of the nearest masts. Dangerous.
Where can I download the actual coordinates for them?

Tom, what you have is the local dialling code (unless it's a big co-incidence) so you know which land lines you can call on a cheaper rate.

Dangeroud in that they fry your brain and if you wear them in your trousers they fry your balls.
Bad for children to be near electrosmog. too.
If safe why is every Bavarian village against them?
Have you driven thru the village of Schäftlach? One of the fucking ugliest masts I have ever seen.

aesthetically perhaps not great in a nice Bavarian village but does that affect you in your flat in Munich? and I can't see how they are worse than eg TV masts.
I'm not convined they are anymore or less dangerous than your average TV or radio mast in terms of rays being emitted - just seems everyone jumps on a bandwagon for no apparent reason sometimes (cross reference with GM food)

you're probably more likely to have a heart attack worrying about all the potentially damaging environmental things around us than from the actual 'environmental pollutants' themselves
