Sports bars and pubs in Munich

okay,

so i know that most of the bigger irish/ozzie bars have sky sports and/or setanta... but could we patch together a list of which bars have what and what they are most likely to show???

are there any hard and fast rules???

e.g. gunthers WILL show soccer... kellys WILL show rugby... bondi WILL show cricket...

i had a couple of annoying experiences last year during the 6 nations of having the rugby switched off in order to show the premiership... euuugggghhhh!

and how many of the smaller bars, ryans/leons/old irish etc have sky?

i'm looking for a venue where i will definitely be allowed watch gloucester v' munster in the heineken cup next saturday at 6...

Ryans does not have Sky. The pub next door does have Premiere though and is an FCB pub. Sappralotts is an 1860 pub with Premiere.
I know that it doesn't help you in your specific search but might be of interest to someone else.

Does anyone know where I can go and see the Celtic League and Heineken cup games ? I miss not being able to see Munster

my gaff will definately be showing that game. All Cletic League and Heinken Cup matcjhes wil also be screened. I know the bloke who controls the remote.

gloucester/munster was soooooo last year (the post is from january)...

this saturday, i'll mostly be watching 'quins come to the thomand park bastion... k.o. 5.15 there, 6.15 here...

i'll probs be heading to ned kelly's, they always seem to show the game i'm looking for in there...

on the topic of Setanta TV, anyone knows of a place where one can watch games on Setanta. None of the Irish bars I know have it (Kilians,Gunter Murphys, The Shamrock, Molly Malones).

I think The Arc can show Setanta...not 100% sure on that so might be best to PM Hazza or one of the guys down there.

No - we don't have Setanta.

It's an Irish channel and I'm surprised that none of the other bars have it. Don't you need Setanta to broadcast the Gaelic football and the Hurling??

Well the Liverpool vs. Man City was only on Setanta last weekend.

If you have an Irish Sky box you will be able to receive RTÉ for oirish football as far as I know.

The Arc is the Place to watch Rugby League.Whether it be Internationals, English Super League or the NRL (Tho the NRL is likely going have to be taped and seen later!).I know there are atleast a dozen or so Rugby League fans from both TT and non TTers as well as a number of Germans I have introduced to the game tho I usually end up getting games recorded on Discs or tape for them as often they dont live anywhere near The Arc!(Unterföhring, Ismaning, Unterschleißheim) plus there are likely a few more I havent found yet.

The Arc have the advantage that they can show a number of Sports at any one time and will always try and accomadate people even if a game is shown early morning if enough people turn up.I would say The Arc is the best place for American Sports as well as some other Sports that arent often shown at Murphys, Kilians, Outback, Shamrock etc

Anybody know which bar will likely to show French Open final (Federer vs. Nadal) this afternoon? Really want to see the match, but I don't have a TV. :-(
