I'm looking to buy a 2mm die (i.e. the opposite of a tap) for threading some steel/titanium rod. I've check
Suckfuell and
Conrad with no luck. Any idea where I can get one and what it's called auf deutsch?

I'm going to one of the
OBI superstores later this evening, if someone knows the german word I can see if they sell them there.

DW needs a "Gewindeschneider" sounds like he already has the Gewindebohrer (tap)

DW, want me to look for a 2mm Gewindeschneider?
@DW
Ti blows ass to try and tap/machine/work... but I'm guessing you know that. My guess is that anything they will sell at
OBI will do the job, but poorly and only a couple times before it is dull. I'll write to a couple friends of mine who work with a motorsports team here and see what they might be able to tell me. They have all the metric dies and taps someone could want, so should also know where to get them. I'll pm you as soon as I know something more (unless I see something posted saying never mind).

I think have a full set of smaller taps and dies. PM me around 7pm tonight to remind me and I'll check.

Wow, that was fast. Thanks all! I asked EtH to check out the store he's off to. If that fails that I might give you a holler DadDoggie.
@ jip
Yeah, Ti is a real pain to machine. Fortunately I reall only need to thread a 4-5mm lenth of the rod.
If the Dawg doesn't come through, my mechanic will have one - he's in Olching but I could get it from him on the weekend... let me know if you need it.

My hubby always buys at
Hoffmann. You need to have a business address though (or a friends' customer number).

What kati said. otherwise we could meet tomorrow and we may could do it at the workshop as I need to do some machining anyways. I have a 2mm and Ti is not so hard unless its an alloy. Let me know,
take care,
