Fresh off the boat - New in Munich

so i just moved to munich from florida and have not a clue as to how to meet native english speakers as i don't know any german and am going a little crazy with no friends. how do i meet people like you around Munich?

No need to be clueless, there's enough of that around already. Go to the section entitled Events - TT Meetups. That's usually an obvious place to start. Go along to an event that tickles your fancy or post your own and invite people to show up somewhere (state a time and a place to make life easier).

But, there's curry night, German Stammtisch, Tuesday drinks, SA Stammtisch and that's just the regular ones. There's a million other things that you can go to and meet English speaking people.

Or just go to one of the many Expat-stylee pubs in town and talk to people. Kilian'S, The Arc, Twisted Bavarian, Günther Murphys, Shamrock, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

Hello, welcome to Munich. I am also from Florida, jumping between Orlando (Oviedo really) and Vero Beach. Hope to see you sometime at one of the events, and they are real easy to meet people at as everyone here has felt new and isolated being in a foreign country and are quick to offer a friendly hand of introduction.

Post a hot pic (doesnt neccessarily have to be you/current picture) ... about 200 guys will show up at the next TT event dying to be your friend.

You should volunteer for the 3rd of July BBQ. There will be many Americans there from different clubs, associations and interest groups.

what boat goes from Florida to Munich ?

i was wondering who would ask me about the boat comment. it's a new underwater boat (not quite a submarine). now that they have those hotels underwater, they think they can do anything. yes i did fly to munich just under two weeks ago from florida where i went to college. before that i grew up in california and now i'm in munich for a year. not quite sure where i belong i suppose. but for now, i will definitely try to come to one of your events soon to meet some of you guys. maybe tonight at that dinner party or in the garden on sunday. i'll have to look into the other events. guess i'll meet up with you guys sooner or later. adios
