I aint no maths expert and that...
How can you be in the TOP 10 of "Hot" and "Pathetic" topic starters. Surely by definition you can only be one or the other???

you can start lots of topics that are popular, but also lots of (other) topics that are unpopular. I believe it is done on absolute numbers (well, divided by the number of posts that user has) rather than a percentage of all the topics the user has started.

Eh? Not unless you have started an similarly high number of hot AND pathetic topics...

sadly this reply removes another chance for you to enter the pathetic category but the statistics make perfect sense... If you shoot enough arrows some will miss and some will hit the target... I noticed this when i was doing a photo journalism course. I realised photographers are not good neccessarily... they just take so many pictures that the law of chance means some of them will be worthwhile... the same applies to topics on a chat site like TT.
