I need a special dress (long) and I hate your standard evening/prom type dresses.
I like it a bit funky, slightly bohemian, a bit romantic...well, it is hard to explain ...

Any ideas / recommendations?

some cool shops on Schellingstr, by the university, or try TollWood, sometimes some of the Indian shops have booths and they might have something more in your tastes.

thanks Carm,

I'll check out Shelling str. first...

Nicowa might have something as they do a lot of eveningwear that isn't so formal. They are on Hohenzollernstr.

I saw a cool Indian shop down near Hauptbahnhof in the direction of Paul Heyse Strasse last weekend. Lot's of gorgeous, colorful beaded things. And the shops down that way are all discount shops, so though I didn't go in and price anything, I'll bet the prices are reasonable (though I suppose the stuff is hand-beaded). I plan to go back and check it out soon.

You're in luck, BOHO is very IN at moment. If you're looking to pay a little extra check out Off&Co or Projekt3 or for a better deal, I've seen a lot of knock-offs at ZARA.

If you're wanting CHIC-BOHO, this dress is adorable - paired with a wooden wedge. It might give you an idea of what you're looking for.

If you're looking for something a little more casual, pair a long colourful BOHO (batik would be cool) skirt with a casual top, a white tank if want to dress it down, a silk cabi for a little spice. Take Kats's advice, and accessorize with loads of Indian beads!!

you're right...I could never find things I liked a few years back when visiting Munich...it has gotten easier now but I didn't shop for a special occasion like this one...
Anyway, Nicowa looks promising and I forgot one of my favourite stores Zara, I will check those out also...

Hope I'll find something...it is mighty hard to shop/try on things with two little ones.

thanks ladies, I very much appreciate your help

@Kat

I am rarely in Hauptbahnhof. ..and I actually don't remember many indian stores here...
I think I should take a stroll there one day...
thanks
