I was wondering if anyone would like to play softball a night or two during the week.

There are a few of us interested in softball.
We were going to play this saturday, but most people seemed to be going to Andechs.
Persimmon has got all the kit, so we just need to find a time when we can get the people organised.
You think an evening is good? We were thinking Saturday afternoons.

I'd like to play as well. the weekend isnt really any good for me but evenings are generally ok (except wednesdays)

I have a bat, a ball, a glove and the shoes, but this Saturday I will be playing games and eating BarBQ sandwhiches with all the trimmings.

I'll come! But not this weekend...

There's women's softball in Englischer Garten every (dry) Wednesday during the summer. They start about 18:30 behind the Chinese Tower, there where the men can be seen playing on the weekends. Nice group of women and all newcomers are quite welcome. Just show up. In fact, in this weather, I'm sure they'll be playing tomorrow. I think I might go. It's mixed German and English speaking, so it's also a good chance to practice your German. Men are allowed to watch only.

I was supposed to be away, but won't be. I'm up for playing on Thursday and we have enough gloves and bats for everyone.

In my München days we would play every Sunday at 1:00 until late at the English Garten. It was a mixture of expats, ex-military and cubans. It was a blast. I haven't been out since my kind was born, but I'm sure they still play. It is very near the Chinese Tower. They were open for women, but it was pretty macho.

Got an email, there is Women's Softball tommorrow night (wed 18:30) in Englischer garten, between the Chinese Tower and the Monotropos (or however the heck you spell that big hill and tower thing! )
Cost is 2 Euro per game, to a max of 8 euros, great group of people, and if men want to play, they have to switch hit!!!

Those games near the Monoptevos on Sunday were good alright, the stretching and wind down session at the Chinese Tower was the real hard part.
Haven't played there for 7 or 8 years.

My girlfriend is keen to play too. She doesn't post here, but she used to play a lot and has equipment as well...

Yes, but not if I have to switch hit.

Would never make you bat the wrong way! There are other rules that help keep it fair, like not allowing walking the guy just to get to the girl up next.

The Women's wedensday night games have some extra gloves and such, so no worries if you have not the 'Right Stuff!'

I'll come on Thursday, but probably only in the afternoon... need to get lots of work done this week!

Thursday is not good for me either. I have to go out of town, but any other day is good for me.

how about we plan ahead and say Saturday June 11th, late afternoon? is that too far ahead?
we need to organise I guess at least 12 people for this...

You need atleast 8 member teams. One at each base, the pitcher and it is no fun being alone in the outfield. The league I played in in Maryland we had 9 member teams where one alternated between infield and outfield depending on who was batting.

I am game for tomorrow (Thursday) and could bring a few people as well... Does someone want to make a call on this?

I'd love to, but there doesn't look like enough interest for 18 people on Thursday.

I'd definitely play, but don't have a glove here, and I can't make it on Thursday. However, next time I am definitely in!
