At first i thought it was a typo (cloud/crowd) or an imitation of an accent. I liked it too.

Right then,
Two issues with that tagline:
1. TT is not just a chat forum, it is a major source of city and region information for all those who browse here. Hats off to EB for providing this service, albeit a commercial one (God that sounded
horribly slimey).
2. I maintain a blog of my own called Where the Hell...? through blogger.com and flickr.com for the pictures. Now why the hell in the future can't we have a blogging facility here resident on the TT server? The problem with my blog is its location in "another" place when I'd really like feedback and comments from readers in TT and Bavaria. If such a blogging facility existed I'd bring it over here.
EB, btw, what about the Open Guides idea? There will be shedloads of incomers here in TT next year for the World Cup. Are you prepared for that eventuality? Asa suggestion mabe there could be a kind of "visitor" username for those who do not live in TT but will be need ing info through TT.

I can't think of a technical reason why that wouldn't be possible, but I'm assuming editor bob's too busy pimping and hustling for adverts to keep the regular lights on as well as himself in room and board to be bothering with adding blogs and disco balls and what not. i wouldn't mind a mechanical bull though, just in case anyone's taking notes.

Hey, just saw that the tagline for TT is now "Munich's English Peking crowd". Is TT going to China? Or becoming German? Coz Peking is the word Germans use for Beijing.

And I realised only a few days ago that the logo shows a beer! YAY!

"Is TT going to China?"
Why not?
China is next super power, so better start align with the winners - the sooner the better.
Or -
If TT was going to China, it should have read:
"Munich's Engrish Peking clowd"
In proper Engrish.
bit.
Thanks for deleting that full stop after "crowd" - I was dying to ask for it to be removed but didn't want to be labelled a pedant (again

). Speaking of 'dots', what's the umlaut doing there? I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before.
Trying to decide just how to pronounce Münich with the umlaut.
Had an argument with a German colleague the other day about what the English word is for 'umlaut'. I tell him, 'umlaut'. He doesn't believe me. 'What the hell else would it be?!' I say. Bonehead.
Its called a
dieresis in English Kat.

Thank you for removing the umlaut (at long last

I think my brain doesn't function in sub-zero temperatures: I don't get today's tagline at all.
Help, anyone?

It probably means that the topics and general flow of chatter will be pretty much the same as it always is. Whilst we probably won't launch into a fullscale assault on 32D the general vibe will be pretty much business as usual. A bit of boring American bashing, some silly questions, some intentional provocation of other members, all that good stuff.
It also doffs its cap in the direction of that Sylvester classic, "Dinner for one" in which Miss Sophie regularly says, "Same procedure as every year James". If you don't know the sketch do a search either here or on Google.

In reference to an recurring cry for help I would like to suggest:
"It's a search engine Jim, but not as we know it"
So I ordered something from Dell, wanted to check the progress of the delivery and apparently it is in Herne-Bornig (Börnig, actually)...
Question: Where is that place?
Answer: Google is your friend. Check the
first result that came back...

Aye, just wait until the insurgents start showing up.

It's plain cruel to do things like this to us on a Monday morning... I thought there'd been an overnight coup and the English language banned from now on!
P.S. But it's a great one nonetheless

Is this a thread hijack I see before me ?
TT is my shepherd; I shall not want.
The Mods maketh me to lie down in green pastures: the Mods leadeth me beside the still waters.
The Mods restoreth my soul: the Mods leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for TT's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of TT, I will fear no evil: for the Mods art with me; thy tagline and thy edit they comfort me.
TT preparest a Forum before me in the presence of pedants: the Mods anointest my topics with title; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of TT for ever.
