*Ducks*
The lefties and the pinkos won't like today's one.
Yeti
It's a bit like Wagners music. Makes you want to jump into a tank and reunify TT and Britboard, sorry I mean makes you want to build dodgy Disney castle replicas.
SleeplessInMunich
Maybe we could get a little swastika put on the logo for today wink.gif
jml
Arm bands. That should be our first bit of TT merchandise.
Yeti
The mods will all start wearing long leather coats now.
sarabyrd
Where's that thread got to about mods bearing arms? It just fits into the whole picture.
Yeti
Looks like the Forum Hall Putsch has collapsed.
Kay

All right then, I'll go first: "What can we do for Toytown?" (Except stop whinging, that is...) biggrin.gif

Munich's English-speaking crowd

Now we have to change the default tagline to include our new expanded community wink.gif
Friday
I got this from a member of the moderation team, and thought it would make an amusing tagline.

We prefer it smooth and well-greased here at TT

I love today's tagline. It is definitely the best yet.
Uncle Nick
I´d leave out the "may" though! cool.gif
Carm
Well, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't! tongue.gif
Kay
Yes, it is great. Even as a repeat performance. wink.gif
Kay

I must admit that my understanding of today's tagline is rather poultry (terrible pun, sorry). Anyone care to explain? unsure.gif
gideon
follow the white rabbit.
jml
every obscure meat tastes like chicken. just ask anyone what alligator, frog, snake or whatever tastes like they'll say a bit like chicken. so if you cant describe the taste, just say it tastes like chicken. or it could be another one of editor bob's private sex jokes again. who knows.
Carm
Well, I know what it means to the 'girls' from my hockey league! laugh.gif
Kay

Now that is an exciting description of Toytown! biggrin.gif
profundo
I'm mother f*'n tired of these mother f*'n POSTS on this mother f*'n FORUM!

The movie just enjoyed a big opening weekend.
Carm
Today's tagline:

Does that mean we are not sweet enough? blink.gif
Uncle Nick
Carm, it means that diabetics are welcome too!
Small Town Boy

I nearly took the bait, but quickly realised that the superfluous apostrophe was just an attempt to get people like me into a tizzy rolleyes.gif
Editor Bob
You're missing a full stop at the end of that sentence there, Small Town Boy. Emoticons are no replacement for punctuation.
bluedave
A pedant pedanticised indeed! laugh.gif
Small Town Boy
I've actually always wondered where the full stop should go -- whether before or after the emoticon. That's the kind of trivial nonsense that occupies my mind...
wahoo
Had to google this one. According to Webster's dictionary a pedant is a : one who makes a show of knowledge b : one who is unimaginative or who unduly emphasizes minutiae in the presentation or use of knowledge c : a formalist or precisionist in teaching
UrbanAngel
No one's commented yet on the first word; shouldn't it be 'Everyone's Welcome'? smile.gif
Kay
I think they're both correct, the tagline version (=no verb) being more of a notice or an announcement where you want to keep things short and to the point, like "Smoking prohibited" or "Dogs not allowed", for example.

More in line with TT's all-embracing, warm and fuzzy proclamation rolleyes.gif, one "welcoming" example that comes to mind (because of the Pope's visit? wink.gif ) would be "Sunday service 10am - Everyone welcome!"
UrbanAngel
Exactly; you'd need that exclamation mark if you're not going to include the verb.
Gen

Finally a new one.
Yeti
Merry? I've never known TT crowds to stop at merry, they usually tend to burn on through to the full-blown dancing on the tables stage.
sarabyrd
I'm pleased to see the additional adjective.
Kay

About time, too.
Jeeves
It hasn't taken off yet so how can it have landed?
Kay

Two wins, one draw, one loss. Hmmm...

Or is my guess completely off the mark?
Katrina
You must be busy today to have not posted about the tagline earlier, right Kay?
Kay
You're right, this morning I was otherwise engaged. Next time I'll ask for a later appointment at the doctor's so I can check the logo, tagline and any other major happenings on TT before leaving the house. wink.gif
Yeti
It is perhaps a reference to the recent gladitorial conforntations between rabid newbies and old but cunning veterans ?
Punchbear
You're gonna need a bigger post.
iain
I think it's more because some forum members haven't had their Wheaties yet...

bluedave
Ahhhh, so i take it ENFP's are the most common breed on TT then?

Edit: Forget the question, i just checked and indeed they are: TT member personality types

Do not, fail me, again.

Champignons...? Has someone been at the mushrooms? Or am I missing something here?
Grinner
Its coz we are all kept in the dark and left with the bullshit!
Kay

Today's is as cute as Knut! smile.gif
