Cheapest petrol stations in Munich

Where has the best fuel prices

Toytown Germany > Discussion forum > South Germany > Munich > Life in Munich
parnell
Seeing as the price of fuel is so high right now , I thought it might be a good idea if folks post up the price of the fuel at their local tankestelle. So prices of Benzin and location ... thanks
eurovol
Jet, just about anywhere.
The one across from Boxfrabrik is usually one of the cheapest.
Jet does change the price in the middle of the day though. If the price is good going to work, make the stop as it might be more expensive on your way home, of course, it could be cheaper. You never know.
parnell
Thanks man , although I just found this useful site: www.clever-tanken.de

It gives the cheapest petrol in your area - I've got one at 1.128 - Friedenstraße 16 — Berg am Laim - HAMBERGER Grossmarkt GmbH

Sorted!

eurovol
Hell, I forgot about that site. I plugged in my Plz and voila:

JET
Heidemannstr. 40
80939 München 1,029 Euro

That is where I go anyway! Cool.
parnell
uh dude ... that's diesel ... I'm in need of straight up benzin ... was wonderin at first how come i couldnt get such a great price!
eurovol
Yeah, I was wondering that too as I drove by earlier and it wasn't that price.
Sorry, forgot to change the pull down menu. wink.gif

JET
Heidemannstr. 40
80939 München 1,159 Euro

Still pretty good for a local and so's I don't have to spend the extra cash to drive way out of the way.
Face it, the price of gas sucks! My family is screaming about the price back home and it is the same as here, but its for a gallon. dry.gif
grtho
Of course gas guzzlers, you should really be using one of Europe's best public transport networks, the MVV. wink.gif But, the reason PETROL and diesel are dearer here than elsewhere in Germany is down to the fact that Munich has the lowest number of independent PETROL stations in Germany.

Umdenken. Umsteigen. cool.gif

Grtho's right. I really fancy the Jag S-Type R as my company motor, but I'm scared shitless that if (when) fuel prices hike, I'm gonna be left with a pup deflating in value because nobody else wants to fill it up. So I've just kept the old Punto for running about where the MVV don't go and take Die Bahn for most business trips. At least I can work on the train all the way there and all the way back, and be in phone contact... and travel 1st Class at less than half the price of a Cattle Class flight. Within a 500km radius the train always beats the plane on timing as well.
YorkshireLad6
Walmart is usually the cheapest around (currently €1,139/l for Benzin). Charivari keeps an uptodate list, with the advantage that if you spend more than €150 in the Walmart store you get a free car-wash as well...

canuck
VMarkt on Balanstrasse is always very cheap. It's usually the cheapest in Munich...
oli2000
...plus they have a great car-wash ("Waschstraße", i.e. not just "Waschanlage") for only €4.50 right next to the gas station. There is, however, typically quite a queue to get gas at V-Markt Balanstraße.
Uncle Jamal
Any truth at all to the opinion that the cheaper no name fuels are not quite as good for your engine?
parnell
Went to that place where the site quotes a price of 1.128 - paid 1.148 ... will go to V-Markt next and report back.
Yeti
It's the same petrol Jamal, all comes from some monster tank up in Hamburg or wherever.

There is a good cheap place at Landsberger Str. 420 (nearly in Pasing). I think it's called Mr. Wash.
Jeeves
Yeti that place used to be cheap when it first opened (couple of years back?) but now it's no cheaper than the brand places in the area
mightypies
Not that I drive, but I keep an eye on petrol prices with a view to buying a little bucket here one day. I find that any of the stations along Fürstenriederstraße, towards the Waldfriedhof are generally cheaper than others.
Yeti
Are you sure Jeeves ? I know it's not as cheap as VMarkt for Super but it's still cheaper than the Jet place out there .
Jeeves
Last time I filled up there (last week) it was the same price as the Jet
Yeti
Okay, good to know Jeeves. Ta. They change the prices so fast you can spend your whole time head swiveling to get the cheapest one. Anybody got a GPS with a Cheap Fuel Locator button ?
CodeRed
How German have you people become? smile.gif
Jeeves
smile.gif
In fact I don't decide where to fill up on the price criterion so much as where I have to wait less time. Why wait 10 minutes to save 10 cents? Which is why Mr Wash is a good place to use, lots of pumps and no shop.
And when on the bike the price difference from place to place is negligible anyway wink.gif

Just FYI I found out today that this is not a neutral survey of the cheapest filling stations, as the information is entered by the filling station operators themselves (which explains why Walmart is not there, as they are one of the cheapest - I guess the don't want to enter their detail, or simply don't know the website exists...)

Was very interested in this topic as I hope to be getting a car in the next couple of months. I'm getting a bit tired of relying on public transport and having to deal with the odd assortment of the mentally ill and hygenically challended who always seem to be on the same train as I am. biggrin.gif

Ditto that. To be honest, I'm almost regretting my decision to get a car a few months ago. At least on the train I could put my headphones on, stick my head in my book and try to ignore all of the crazy people. On the road I have to actively try to avoid being hit by them!
chucktduck
Yeah but at least in my car I won't have to talk to anyone or listen to anyone else's bullshit or have my breath cut off because the person sitting next to or accross from me smells like they haven't bathed in weeks ohmy.gif Admittedly, in Munich one doesn't really need a car but I live in Erding where not having a car is almost like not having legs. When I come to Munich I take the s bahn normally. Just tired of that being my only option.

Gas prices are up again...in some places €1.10 for diesel!!

Sin
GZUS Keydeck. I'm getting Diesel for 106,9 on Lochhamer Schlag in Martinsreid.
dan_84
Clever Tanken seems to be working fine. V-Markt on Balanstr. is currently the cheapest, the price being at 1,048 for Diesel.

Dan
YorkshireLad6
Just don't forget that clever-tanken is not a neutral survey of prices, although I accept that it's one of the only ones available. I don't know fuel current price, but Wal-Mart is usually one of the cheapest too...

YL6
Keydeck
Aye, though on Clevertanken it says that Allguth on Fürstenreiderstr is flogging diesel at 105.9 but I drove past today and it's 110.9. That's what I mean by it being unreliable. As people have said it's updated by the tankstelle themselves (or individuals), that's why I was wondering if people here could pop a couple of prices onto this thread when they notice them. That way we'd always know how up to date the prices are. I know Clevertanken has a date on each price but I'd rather trust a survey I see here. Handier too to have it on Toytown.
YorkshireLad6
Nice-Price also provides a list of "cheapest" places, too (but I'm not convinced that Clever-Tanken is not behind it) - I see it shows Alguth Diesel as €1,08 today smile.gif

Just goes to show, nothing is reliable...
grazzenger
you'll never keep track of it. in freising, there are two petrol stations (as we from the islands call them) who constantly change their prices depending on what the other has done. i've seen them change 3 or 4 times per day, dropping or rising by up to 10 cents.

best thing is to think about it when you have a quarter tank left and then take the lowest you happen to see. i know that edeka in erding is usually the lowest in the area by a couple or 3 cents, but that's erding. generally though, it's cheaper out side of munich as far as i can see.
Whisky-Emporium
€1.114

When I left Markt Schwaben this morning the local Esso garage was offering Super Unleaded for €1.349, the local cheap station just outside Ebersberg was €1.299

When I returned this evening, the Esso was down to €1.329

But I managed to fill up for €1.114 during the day when I was near to Kufstein.

OK, so it's a long way to go just for petrol, but we were there anyway ... So why not?

Should any of you be planning a trip out over the weekend in that direction, don't fill up at home!
Previous experience also tell me that a little further into Austria, away from the immediate borders and motorways, it's even cheaper.

Different country... different tax!... tit! smile.gif
YorkshireLad6
Different country. different tax, who cares? Except for the bottom line on the bill.

Note, however, that if you have reason to claim fuel costs as a business expense, Austrian fuel is not cheaper, as (in most cases) you can't claim the VAT back. If you are entitled to claim fuel, then foreign fuel must be at leat 13.8% cheaper. Luxembourg and Switzerland are pretty much the only countries in northern Europe where this is the case...

YL6
Darkknight
Read in the Papers yesterday that they expect the price of Super to go up to 1.70 Eur a litter by the end of summer...
Grinner
Would buying Deisel in bulk, make it much cheaper?
Darkknight
Or go do a midnight raid on the petrol farm in Heimstetten, and get all your petrol for free biggrin.gif
