QUOTE (jip @ Jun 8 2005, 4:00 pm)
... oh, and how did you fracture your ribs? ...
I woke up at 4am last Thursday with an extra-strength migraine.
I had the sudden need to throw up and stumbled in my dazed and
half-asleep state to the bathroom, where I slipped on the tiles and
landed on my ribcage on the side of the bathtub. Crunch.

How does everyone feel about starting at 4 - like we used to?

Wicked fun game yesterday! Luckily, my side isn't even sore this morning!
As chewy mentioned, we won't be making it on Sunday. Hopefully you guys get good weather and have a great game!
P.S.: Anyone up for a game today?

Jun 9 2005, 9:28 am
If we get enough, 6pm at G-Strasse is where it's at.
Looks like we have four so far. Abs said if she was back in town in time, she'd join, but to count her and Bec as essentially a 'no' while making plans.
C'mon everyone, you know you want to play again!
I am about 60% probability

Two friends of mine (Aapo, joined us on that hot as hell Sunday game, and Bjorn, hasn't played with us yet) can make it at a few minutes past 7pm. That's five for 6pm (DW, Chewy, Jawn, brokenm, and myself) and two for later. C'mon, let's get a few more out there! We're so close to having a game!
For those who need a little subliminal advertising to encourage you:
(This might also be a good iron-on...)
Maybe if I put laundry detergent all over my cloths, I can shower/wash my laundry/play ultimate all at the same time... just need a little bit of rain...
But, in reality, if i showed up today, I'd be the greatest offense of all times... (but that would have nothing to do with sports...). Hell, I'm afraid to handle half of my laundry w/o a biohazard suit right now. Wish me luck, I'm goin in!
<muffled screams in background>
Reporter: And this was the scene today as jip tired to do is laundry. Behind me you can see some of the charred remains covered with chemical burns and lesions. Roomates desribed the sight as 'horriffying'. According the eye witnesses, jip approached the pile of clothing with care. As he got within a meter's distance, two socks shot from the pile, knocking jip to the ground. At that point there is some discrepancy as to if it was a pair of pants, or a shirt, which reached out from the pile to pull jip in. A short time later a few body parts floated to the surface. HAZMAT is investigating the best cleanup method now, but efforts are being hampered by local activists who claim the laundry pile didn't know any better and should not be put to death. Local scientists are investigating the large amount of energy produced by the pile, which they claim could 'provide a potential energy source for entire countries' with the use of just one pile. More at 11.

If you bring a 37 foot high piece of plywood back as well, I suppose the paint would do.
So... a few more for the game today?

Let's do this! It's a bit more cloudy than earlier, but still good. Looks like we have 5 or so (plus or minus one), potentially a few more, and then 2 more coming along at 7pm (or shortly after). Looking for like it's going to be just a throw around, but that's fine, if we get enough for a game, great! If not, it'll still be good.

So, how was it? if my typing is a little off, it's because hazmat is decontaminating my left arm after the battle with the monster clothing pile (I'm so moving to hollywood and writting that script).

a nice little throw around. There was some distracting scenes around (gorgous lesbians making out etc) and they think I am kidding

Yeah, fun throw around with some lesbians making out in the background! Honestly, they weren't that hot, but hell lesbians are an instant mupltiplier of 2 on the 1 to 10 hotness scale!

Andrew here. Back in town and my wife (Lisa) and I are keen to get some Ultimate in. Is it 6pm Sunday or 4pm? I would vote for 4pm as the weather has chomped lately and it might be a bit warmer. Majority rules however. So let us know the time and place and we will be there.
cheers,
Andrew

re: Sunday Meetup TimeLet's stick with 4pm on Sundays as the rule. If it looks like it's
going to be a hot one we can deal with it when it happens.
To Everyone Who Ordered a Frisbee ...Arrived this morning, everything as ordered. Since the postage took
a bit longer than expected, there's one small problem: since I won't be
around for the next 3 meetups (I'm on holiday) it would be great if
someone could do me a favour and hand the frisbees out on Sunday.
You could pick them up from here (Nordfriedhof) or I could meet you
at
Münchner Freiheit (today or tomorrow). Send me a PM, someone.
To those who have yet to pay, send me a PM and I'll send you my bank
details. Once you've got your disc on Sunday you can just transfer the
money (11,50 / disc) over to me
(still to pay: benpanter, joef, chewy, scotsman, jip, davo, sumac and greg)

Jun 10 2005, 1:49 pm
Tim (brokenm) is kindly going to hand out the discs on Sunday.
If anyone wants their disc tonight, we'll be meeting up in the hofbräuhaus at 8 tonight. Otherwise you can transfer the money to me on/after Sunday:

Hey... definitely have to meet you all and play some ultimate. I havenot played a lot in my 5 months in Munich. Went a couple times to play with Mir San Mir, they are a little... just a tad... above my level of skill.

But I *have* been missing my ultimate...!
If there are heavy clouds Sunday I won't be skydiving. Anyone know if there's parking near where you play in the E.G.? Or must I U or bike it from the east saiiiide...
later,

Hi Guys, back from Croatia and ready to play. Looking out my window it looks pretty chilly so I think we'll be using the old, Giselestrasse, location at 4pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone there (touchwood, my knee's better and the ankle hasn't ached for a few days...)

Hi Ben, glad to hear you had a nice holiday! Tim (brokenm) has the frisbee's and will hand them out this afternoon. I'm off on holiday myself in a couple of hours and will be back on Wednesday 22nd.

If it's not raining by then I'll come by! Still not sure whether i should try & drive there... eh?
benpanter
Jun 12 2005, 12:04 pm
Given the overcast skies, if you drive there should be free parking near seehaus - not actually in the seehaus carpark, but on the little road that circles round and goes underneath the big dual carriageway.
Forcast claims there may be a spot of rain this afternoon, but it's always more fun when you can slide around a bit

Looks like I am bringing 4 guests: Robert (US), Kasper (DK), Lars Holm (DK) & Teis (DK). Hope that's ok... All very nice people, although rather geeky
Ps. do not discuss your preference for either Macs or PCs with these guys...

I had fun as well, both during the play and after the beer loosened my lips a bit. Joe, could you send me an e-mail as I lost yours.
Otherwise, I have two frisbees left that Jay ordered. I know one belongs to Greg (I could bring it by the pub quiz tonight, if you will be there) and the other belongs to a Paul??? I can bring that to the meetup on Wednesday.
The rest I will see again on Wednesday.

A BIG *thanks* to everyone who helped cool my ankle off: outside (with water) and internally (by administering beer).
It can't be sprained too badly. I went to a Dream Theater concert in Austria today and was standing for about 5h straight. So maybe in a few days or a week it'll be playable again... but this time with robo-brace =)
cheers
