Mountains too warm, and tomorrow stormy. I change my vote, see you guys a bit before 2.
Let's hope our game is between bands of drizzle, but I come anyway.

Didn't mean to chastise you, since you are out there more often than me, I shouldn't have posted that. I just didn't want your post to damper the spirits of playing today.

Nothing and no-one's going to dampen my spirits, not even the enormous hangover with is currently residing behind my left eye.

Yeah heading out now. Full belly of chili should carry me through it. Hope there are enough for some 4-on-4 or greater ;-)
Hmm, Tim... my first game since, oh, sometime around October... perhaps even September... hehe.

Good turnout for the first game of the season, but the weather was a bit shit.

Feb 26 2007, 11:12 am
Yeah, not a bad sign to have 16 people playing for 20 minutes in the rain ...
... the game was fun until the gale-force wind kicked in

I'm away myself for the next two weekends but I'll post later in the week when the forecast extends that far.

I thought it was great yesterday. I can't wait to do it again when it isn't raining...

Forecast for this Sunday could be promising. Hopefully better than last week for those who want to play.
I'm glad to see that Ultimate is back. What's the deal with this Sunday? 13:40 at
Giselastrasse again? I will be there rain or shine.

Mar 2 2007, 7:47 am
I'm out for the next two weeks in England and then anderswo in Germany, but meeting at
13:40 at the Giselastrasse location if a good isea so that you can guys can take over the
touch rugby field at 14:00. And if there aren't enough people for a proper game, you can head to
Hirschau to join up with the StuSta guys.

I'm up for playing on Sunday if there is no rain. What kind of interest is there?
Wizadora
Mar 2 2007, 4:24 pm
I'm up for it too, minus the rain. That said I don't even mind that, it's once the wind starts blowing that it gets pointless.

This thread's as good as dead. 'Footy in the Park' on Sundays is where it's at now!
Just ask old mr brainiac - he's joined the dark side!

No!!!
Touch Rugby, then Ultimate, then Footie. If we all coordinate it properly, come summer none of us will be struggeling to get space on a field full of beach towels.
BTW Ultimaters we finish usualy between 2 and 2:30!

Mar 2 2007, 5:13 pm
Having witnessed the debacle that was footy in the park last week I'm sure that the esteemed
frisbee community will have more sense than that!

Footy in the Park last week was off the fucking chain! All 3 of us were having a ball and then the cavalry arrived! There's no going back now. Even in the torrential rain and howling wind that was last week, we battled on. Soldiers that we are.

I plan on playing all three sports this Sunday, as I did last week. (I won't mention the fact that I could not walk on Monday).

I'm up for this Sunday (2 PM/14:00).
I also would like to join the "Touch Rubgy". They play at 11 AM, correct? Where exactly? Gisellestrasse location?
See you on Sunday.
Cheers,

I enjoyed the game yesterday, and the weather was perfect! It was nice to see so many new people joining in. We even had some of the Touch players sticking around, too! Looking forward to next week.

Hey Guys,
i hate to admit it but it looks like the tourney in Erlangen was too much for the old man. My knee has not been happy with me since but I hope to be back before too long. Keep up the good play.

Awwww, tsquare you were missed on Sunday in the beergarden, get well soon!
Hopefully this weather will hold, it was a good game on Sunday, looking forward to this weekend, which is pretty sad seeing it's only Tuesday.

no it isn't sad, I too am looking forward to dressing in the right clothes, remembering my inhaler and running round after a plastic disc!
I have been waiting all week, and now there's only 70 more hours to go. Next game: Sunday at 2pm, at Giselastrasse.

So did I miss the best game of the year so far? Judging by the weather, I would say so.
At around 2 pm I was flying back to Münchkin over a cloud-free Germany.
They wouldn't let me throw my
frisbee in the plane. Bastards.

Mar 12 2007, 10:16 am
I think it was a wee bit warmer last week as there was no wind. Still lovely though for March. I think I may have to give it a miss though this week. For 2 weeks in a row I've had to stop early due to a dodgy knee..I think it may be time to rest up for a bit

Fantastic weather and fun game: at
Hirschau there were about 20 players in any case.

We had enough for 6-on-6 with a couple of subs, reducing near the end (of course, we did play for 2 1/2 hours!!). Playing 3-on-3 is exactly as I remember it. I think we made it to 3 or 4 points before everyone ran out of gas.
Last week the rugby guys stopped ahead of schedule, and our field was only saved from interlopers by the courageous efforts of the guys who were there early, including the ever vigilant one51. So I suggest that we go back to the previous time for this week: Sunday, 1:40pm at Giselastrasse.

It totally depends on touch numbers on when touch finishes. If we get a turn out of 20, and sub a lot then touch can go on until 2pm no problem. I could let know mrbrain know around 12ish, what touch numbers look like?!?! He could then post to thread.. but I guess that's prone to confusion.
@Inflatablewoman: Of course, it's tricky to predict when a game will end. I kind of like the idea of an alert going out and everyone racing to the
English Garden - it would be like being volunteer firemen, only without the saving lives part.
In general, it's probably best for us to arrive a little earlier. Then we can be warming up on the sidelines while Touch is finishing up, or if it ends early, we can take over the field immediately.

Sweet, I am like a superhero. It's just that my only power is being ever vigilant.
I will probably make it Sunday, let's hope for good weather. Heavy rain is like my Kryptonite, it decreases my vigilance (but not my vigor, virility, or virginity).

Not until it's staying light until at least 19:30.
We change the clocks on the 25th March, so I would guess that the first Wednesday game will be on the 28th (sunset at 19:45, woohoo!).
In the meantime, see you guys on Sunday at 13:40 ...

A little windy but warm and sunny! I will bring a golf putter to throw around in case it's too windy for an Ultimate disc. Golf discs are a bit more wind resistant

Hey all... we had 4-on-4 for about an hour and a half. But we really need to get there earlier (and more than just 2 or 3 people at 2pm). Right at 2 when the Rugby folks cleared off, David and I tried to set up the field and some big group of 15 German soccer-assholes moved in at the same time. In the end it worked out OK (we had a short field with mole-holes in the end zone) but I was trying not to start shit with a bunch of soccer-assholes. Geez... this dude was trying to tell me "go over there (towards
Seehaus)... you don't need a flat field to play
frisbee!" Yeah and you don't need a ball or feet to play soccer right?
Anyway it was a good game, I think everyone learned to throw in the wind ;-) See y'all in 2 or 3 weeks after some business and then maybe ski trips... good luck securing the Rugby field in the meantime. Needs at least 6-8 people *at 2pm* to avoid soccer-asshole conflict, hehe.

It was a good game / work out that did wonders on my hang-over from the night before. We should aim for 13:45 arrival next week, if it's not too cold. Will update this thread with the forecast as the week rolls on.
Is it still Monday?

Alright, after a conversation about slightly off-topic subjects on the
frisbee list (and since it doesn't conflict w/ any frisbee dates), I will risk asking if anyone wants to go skiing/boarding this Thursday. Since it is snowing a lot and I'm gone on the weekend, I wanna go once more if the weather that day is non-stormy. Need 6 more days to reach my goal of 20!
[background: i know most of you frisbee guys, and would not be comfortable just asking everyone in Toytown to go on a trip with me... and mostly just frisbee'rs will read this thread]
Hey guys, I will be out of town this weekend as I am checking out potential gigs back in the U.S. (note to jayhay: Start training an apprentice in the subtleties of using the bold font.), but if there is a game on Wednesday, count me completely in.
