Ultimate Frisbee - Wednesdays and Sundays

There were six of us last Sunday, throwing around for quite a while until we decided to go to the other field. Sorry you missed us, Manoj. Unfortunately, I think Mr. Brain is correct: It's probably going to be too cold this weekend for a game. Hard-core Ultimate fanatics may want to join the other game.

To get to the Dietlindenstrasse location, go around the lake clockwise to just before you get to the Seehaus. Take the fork in the sidewalk to a pedestrian bridge that goes over Isarring. On the other side of the bridge, hang a right, and go straight past the Hirschau beer garden. Keep going straight until you cross a small road, and you'll see the field.

I'd be interested in this, assuming the level isn't too high.
I particularly like the idea of the teams being put together on the day.

I play today at the Dietstr. assuming there'll be people playing from the other teams. Jay, I'd like to play in the tourn. too.

As an update, I now know of 3 regular players who are planning to head to this (including myself). Since we won't be playing regularly until much later in the year, it would be great to see as many of you as possible joining us for the trip north to Erlangen. In the meantime, a merry Christmas to you all

Argh, just broke up with my girlfriend (was planning on her-family stuff). Was checking what frisbee'rs would be around to hang out with.

But in th'end I got a tix back home to the US for a piddly $460. Holy crap, that's better than I expected. See you all in '07 for a good early start... snow Ultimate anyone?

We talked about having a start of season meet-up since the end-of-season one was such a success.
February's a little early for that, but it would be nice to organise a similar night out since Ben will be back. I'll send him an email to find out when.

I'd probably be up for a mid-winter Ultimate get together!

In fact if the weather stays like this I might be up for a game... or a trip to Weilheim for some disc golf. It's pretty damn easy to find your disc when the leaves are all fallen off the trees and there's no snow.

Depending what time tomorrow, I could do that - even if enough people don't show up for a proper game we could just have a throw around.

I could play Sunday but not tomorrow, but tsquare's right, no-one really checks this thread out of season.

Hey Frisbee players,

For those of you that still remember me, I'm just checking in, making sure you guys are still doing up frisbee right. I hope you're still enjoying the Munich sun, and keeping in shape, the best part. I'm doing well, working west of Boston, and living in the city having a great time. Hope you're all doing well. I miss Munich way too much, and need to find my way back soon. Remember, when in doubt... throw it long.

Hey Guys'n'Gals - me and a pile of friends (at least half frisbee players) are going to Murphy's on Monday (tomorrow... or later on today depending on how you count it...) for the pub quiz at 21:00. Anyone feels like joining us, please come along!

I haven't checked this forume for at least 3/4 weeks. Should I be?

Hey Manoj, check the sticky post at the start of the thread - there's a game on every Sunday organised by several other Munich frisbee groups. A few of the TT people go along there. It's at 14:00 on Sundays at the (2) location on the map (nr. Hirschau).

I think I'll put together a mailing list for this group in the next few days to make sure we can make the most of any more sunny Sundays that might come along. Details to follow.

AFAIK you can "subscribe" to the thread (see that "options" tag at the top?), and then you'll get emails when new posts are made.

@JayHay - at the top you made a weee mistake: #2 is "Hirschau", not Dietlindenstr. But yes folks - it /is/ at location 2 that we play.

No mistake. We've always referred to the first location as Giselastrasse and second location as Dietlindenstrasse, based on which U-Bahn stop is nearest.

My 5 day weather widget predicts lots of rain, except on Saturday, which it now has at 13 degrees and sunny. If that holds up, I will definitely be interested in a game.

Hey frisbee players,

On the 17th February (a week this Saturday) there's an one day (9:00 -19:00) indoor ultimate tournament being hosted in Erlangen. Players of ALL abilities are welcome. Participants will be sorted randomly into teams of 5 people on arrival, so it's not a matter of organising a team in advance. It costs EUR7,50 to enter, Erlangen is about 90 minutes on the train from Munich, so if a few people are interested we could either carpool or share a BayernTicket on the train.

At the moment there are at least 3 TT players planning on taking part.

Count me in. Even though I'm terribly out of shape and have never played indoors.

FYI - the tournament is full, and registration is only possible for the waiting list, but it is quite likely that you will still get a place if you register soon! (registration on the website linked above!)

Is the Sunday winter game going to be happening that weekend of the Erlangen tourney? I will be getting back Tue from vacation with a 9h time difference, so probably will be too zonked out for a tourney. But I want to play if I can wake up by 2pm ;-)
