Ultimate Frisbee - Wednesdays and Sundays

I aim to be there this evening, but I more than likely be late due to work commitments.

Looking forward to tonight... but might have to play some footie instead!

I'll be there at 4pm at Dietlindenstrasse unless someone tells me different (no posts here for a few days).

For anyone wishing to get a taste of competitive Ultimate using the full rules and different stack/zone tactics, you can try:

Wegwerfgesellschaft (I believe meaning, throw-away-society).

I've gone a couple of times and it was a lot of fun. Quite a different game, but more challenging in both athletic and mental ways. I still need to work on finding the open person and not just focusing on one person that looks like they want it. Anyway it's a medium-level game (not national champion winner level), so definitely a good chance for the aspiring TT'ers who want to learn more about competitive Ultimate. Consider the analogy: shooting hoops in the driveway with neighbors, vs. joining a local basketball league.

Hopefully this week I make it to TT and Wegwerfgesellschaft. Note, Thursdays it's turf-shoes or lower only (no cleats!)... Sundays the field is pretty hard so I recommend turf-shoes there too unless it's just rained.

There's another good mid-range training opportunity for those who are interested - during the Semesterferien, the ZHS folks will be training at the TT-known Stomping ground bei Hirschau every Monday (i.e. Today!) at 18:30 for the next 6 weeks or so.

I think my flight is on Thursday, so I might be able to make it along to this session. Could do with a beer anyroad...

I anticipate a good game tonight. With the cooler weather we won't over-heat as we've done in the past.

I'm also down for CT or Seehaus afterwards. Tubbsy, I think I owe you a Maß from last time!

@ben - not until 8 or 9, probably 9 if I remember correctly.

Been playing with Google maps yesterday, and found out we can use that to make much more detailed description of where we play. Examples here (Gieselastr. location) and here (Dietlindenstr. location) and here (Chinese tower).

Hey guys, hope you're enjoying the game.. wish I could make it but i'm currently moving out of my flat and will be flying tomorrow. It's been great hanging out, and I just want to say thanks to the man who made this all possible, benpanter, because if it wasnt for him we probably would never have met. So thanks Ben!

If you find yourself state-side, around the NJ/NY area, look me up, I'd be happy to throw around in central park or so, and though it's hard to match, I'm sure we'd find a suitable alternative to the beer garden . PM me for contact details or shoot me an email through my tt profile.

No worries Brad, thanks for that and best of luck for the future. I've got a long standing invite to work at NYU for a bit, so I'll look you up if I ever make it over.

In the meantime, and for everyone else, try to keep Saturday the 9th of September free. I'll be having a leaving do of my own of some sort or another, possibly combined with a game of ultimate...

Hmm rainy...I don't think I'll make it out today.

Just found out about this last night, and want to try it out. Hope to find someone there today.

I'm up for it, needing the exercise this week, hope the rain doesn't put too many off!

What time is the game today? 2pm, 4pm? would only be able to come out for an hour or so but could use the movement after standing behind the bar the last two nights. If the rain holds off the ground should be soft and the grass moist... perfect for getting horizontal and laying out some discs!!

Although the weather's looking doubtful, the game today will be at 4pm at Dietlindenstrasse.

If the weather clears up then be assured, there'll be enough people for a good game
(We're always out after the rain in full force. Like worms.)

I have been meaning to come down and play some Ultimate for some time now and today I am finally going to make it!! so I'll see you all there!

Well, it might be light rain at the moment but from the radar image I think it might pass by in time for the game. I'm going to head over to the field anyway, even if it's just a half hour chuckabout in the rain I'll be happy to get some exercise!

Enjoyed the game yesterday. Respect to all present for playing for 90 minutes in the rain!
