Anyone up for a game of ultimate monday the 19th, I have a friend coming and want to take him around and show him some fun... let me know what time and place works best for most people
jayhay
I'll be there at 1pm and I'll bring some food for the beer garden after.
Are we meeting at Giselastrasse or Dietlindenstrasse?

I would suggest Dietlindenstrasse, because the park will be very busy tomorrow.
smartini
Hello,
I posted earlier today that mysef and a friend of mine would join you guys, but I posted to quickly. We won't be able to make it this week, but we will try for the next ! Have fun !
TCH
OK, 1PM then at D-street. Just enough time to sleep between now and then wink.gif

@smartini - show up anytime! We're friendly! (Except when very small dogs are chasing jayhay across the pitch, in which case we're too busy laughing) biggrin.gif
jayhay
In my defence, I thought it was a big dog huh.gif
benpanter
OK, 1pm it is - but we should really sort this out during the week in future as we'll loose anyone who doesn't have internet access at the weekend or doesn't check TT religously. Hopefully there'll still be enough of us around at the beer garden when StuSta turn up too...
one51
Do they have a TV setup for World Cup at Hirschau?

Looks like I checked mail just in time. Guess I need to leave in about 20 minutes to get there at 1. I need to play pretty hard to make up for missing the last 2 weeks :-)
one51
Leaving now... if anyone shows up a 2 or 2:30 and wants to play longer than 3, I will probably be in ;-)
Weenskii
I just rolled out of bed, so one sub is on the way.. would likely be up for playing later than 3
Wizadora
Arrggghh! Just realised this was for 1! So I'll play on then too!
benpanter
OK, thanks to those who made it, just downloading the photos now... lots and lots and lots of photos...

Let's spend this week working out when the WM matches will interfere. I don't mind playing at 1pm (except when it is a scorcher of a day like today, when in fact I would rather play at 4...). Which of the next few Sundays are likely to be important footiefans?

In the meantime, next game will be Wednesday at Giselastrasse from 6pm. Be great to see anyone who isn't watching footie there!
Weenskii
I look forward to the pictures. biggrin.gif

Sadly I wont be able to make it this wednesday or sunday as I'm travelling to Spain for holiday, but I'll see you all wednesday after next. In the meantime, enjoy the sun/beer/frisbee/football. Cheers!
benpanter
Bit rough and ready, but I've put the best shots from this afternoon here: Frisbee Photos. Welcome to big versions if you want them, or if anyone isn't happy with their photo being up give me a shout and I'll take it down.
TCH
Wow, great shots! And you were complaining about the contrast with the sun! smile.gif

I'm sure I got a bit too much sun today, but it was a great time. Hopefully everyone will heal up for Wednesday (I know I have a few bumps and bruises from today).

Once again, cheers for the photos and see you all in a few days! wink.gif
Izabella
great pics ben... couldn't make it because i was slogging through waist deep snow with the y-form on... i guess you're right... it is still a bit early in the season for high-alpine ph34r.gif

my cleats are still brand spankin shiney new... they need some mud up... see ya'll wed!
jayhay
Yeah, nice photos.

I'll be there on Wednesday for sure
(can cope with missing Tunisia vs Saudi Arabia smile.gif)

The knee is making progress. I was able to bike around town (from WC game to WC game) yesterday without much difficulty. I'm aiming for a Sunday comeback!

Hi all,

So I thought I'd spread the word about an ultimate tournament that's happening on July 2 as part of the Langen Nacht des Sports here in Munich. It's a hat tournament, which means you just sign up and they put you on a team, usually with a mix of more and less experienced players. It's being organized by Wegwerfgesellschaft, a team in Munich that also plays on Sundays, but at 17:00 on the field in front of the Alten Pinakothek.

The tournament is just a one night event that will take place at ZHS which is the sports complex for the Technische Universität München located in the Olympic Village. Anyways the cost is 11 EUR and they are definitely interested in having more players sign up. See this link for more information: Lange-Nacht-Cup
MandyNY
Hey guys, long time! Frisbee with little kids on the beach in Tuscany just wasn't the same. See you on Sunday!! M
benpanter
So... tonight, 6pm at Giselestrasse

-------------------------------------------------------
We need to do some forward planning too. Since StuSta want to come down and have a game with us on Sunday, we need to make sure that they and we know well in advance what time we're playing. For Sunday, there are three football games on:

Sun 18 June 3pm Japan v Croatia Nuremberg
Sun 18 June 6pm Brazil v Australia Munich
Sun 18 June 9pm France v Korea Rep. Leipzig

So how do we feel about a 2 pm start on Sunday?
tsquare
Don't care. You all choose.
Izabella
i won't loose any sleep over missing the japan/croatia game... but i'm definitely planning on catching australia/brazil...

2 sounds good to me
drw
My Japanese colleague mentioned today that he wanted to play Ultimate on Sunday, but didn't want to miss the 3pm match. But, as he pointed out, he is our only Japanese Ultimate player... Any Croatians out there?

Personally, I am with tsquare, and my only concern is to avoid taking the U6 when it is jammed with Allianz Arena crowds.
benpanter
Indeed. I think that for us, a 2pm start when the game is at 6 is fine - also we should be clear getting back as we're going against the flow as long as we manage to stay in the beergarden for a little bit afterwards...
hellowilli
Hey guys !

I'll be there !

I bought a frisbee for the occasion !

see ya !

will cool.gif
one51
2pm on Sunday is fine for me, I should be able to make it.

Today, about to check the weather. Unfortunately I have a 5-6pm meeting, so I will be a little late. Promise you guys won't all head to the biergarten at 7:15 or something? :-)

dave
hezamarie
I'm heading to Freiburg but should be back before Sunday. 2pm works for me. But hey Croatia played well last night.

As for this evening, I can't make it. Have fun you all.
jayhay
I'll be watching the Croatia game on Sunday, so I won't be able to make Frisbee at 2pm. Before lunch would work for me (any time before 12 noon would be fine). Whatever, we won't be able to please everybody.
ami_tom
Hey all, I will be there on sunday at 2, unless weather turns freaky.
Looking forward it !!
Tom
benpanter
For Sunday we'll be playing at the Dietlindenstrasse location at 2pm. Some folks from StuSta are going to come down and play against us, should be reasonably matched but anyone who isn't up for that no problem, we'll be running the usual slightly slower scratch game alongside if necessary.
MandyNY
See you guys there, really need to run around..got some serious Mickey near-death stories for beer time too-M
one51
So here's the question for Sunday's TT vs. Stusta fun match: will we play stall counts, have *real* boundaries, and keep score? Doesn't matter too much to me which one (esp. since I don't know what they usually do), but we should sort this out before the game starts. Then we don't have any disagreements during play :-)
jayhay
Vaild question. Hopefully not.
The fact that we generally don't things too seriously is one of the best things about our meetups.
benpanter
Seconded. We'll sort this all out when we get there.
one51
Great game! We should do that every 2nd Sunday or something, at least during the summer.

Now, I need to get in better shape for the next game... or at least get more energy! tongue.gif
camman
Good game all round today... the StuStadt are good competition. - Good thing we had over 50% subs.
@one51 - I think a couple times a season is sufficient... - maybe the first / last Sunday of each month?

I didn't get a chance to chat with the other game but hopefully we'll all be there again on Wednesday. Welcome to the newbies that I met at the biergarten.

btw: I'll only be there for two more games - then back in August.

Not that it matters much to me just now, but 2pm is peak heat/sun time - how do people feel about shifting the time back to 4 pm? The orginal reason for 2pm was to take over the rugby pitch at G-strasse - I think that's moot though. I'm sure there's an astronomer that can fill in details about dusk / twilight / sunset etc. (is there supposed to be a capital "A" ? ;-)

Cam
benpanter
Astronomer or otherwise, I'm up from 4pm from here on in. The other reason for the 2pm was when it was cold and dark, not a problem now. I reckon a monthly meet up with StuSta is enough... fun as it was, I want to make sure that we can all play together, and that would not have been an option today.
one51
A few people were interested to buy discs. Both my old Ultimate discs broke since Jay's order a month or two ago. Anyone volunteer to organize a buy? I want to get those Discraft Ultrastars, the "official Ultimate disc," and I'm in for two. White and that fluorescent yellow.

From a quick count at yesterday's game there were at least 2 people besides me interested. That makes the shipping pretty cheap if we go in together, and overall like 30% cheaper than buying at SportScheck.
MandyNY
Cam, Fabi wanted a disc before, but went ahead and bought one after the game. Sorry. Yesterday was fun, but i'm walking handicapped now. I guess thats what two weeks off brings. Those other kids played really well. Nice talking to new people afterwards!!-M
benpanter
OK, so, Wednesday we'll be playing at Giselastrasse from 6pm. I'm going to do my best to make it down, but I'm flying the next day and possibly have friends passing through that evening so no promises.

You're on your own for next week though. Someone who is a regular player and isn't addicted to football needs to volunteer to set the time and place and get there on time to sort things out. I'd suggest moving to 4pm on a Sunday as it is getting too hot, but your call. I'll take over again for Sunday 2nd...
mrbrain
Sunday's game at 17:00 is 1A vs 2B, so that will be Ecuador vs England or Sweden, depending on tonight's outcome. If we play at 16:00, I'd up for an hour of disc and then a quick bike ride to a nearby monitor.
mrbrain
Germany vs Sweden @ 17:00... Don't think I'm going to make it to Ultimate now that I think about it.
Izabella
i'm going to seehaus for the 4pm portugal vs. mexico match today before hitting frisbee if anyone wants to meet up for a pre-frisbee stark beer ph34r.gif
Weenskii
How did everyone enjoy the pouring rain we played in yesterday? smile.gif
benpanter
I saw it from my office as I was finishing up for the day, looked at my watch and thought, "That'll be fun then..." smile.gif
Izabella
i stayed bunkered as well... ph34r.gif
benpanter
Ah, I meant that I saw it at about 7:30 as I was leaving the office and wishing that I was playing, as the downpour would have been great to cool down...
Izabella
freakish brit... you probably klettersteig in the lightning too, eh? blink.gif
MandyNY
I'm out for a while guys, I just got out of the hospital...turns out I have acute bronchitus and somethigns weird about my lungs. Guess i'll see you when the Codene runs out. blink.gif
hezamarie
Last night was a memorable one! A great crowd, rain warm enough to play in, and lightning scribbling the horizon. Sorry some of you missed out.
