Ultimate Frisbee - Wednesdays and Sundays

Smaller turnout today: 3x3 with no subs, but I think that's respectable considering the weather. We had a nice 1.5 hr game, and just like on sunday the rain stopped when we began playing, and if you're doing any amount of running you stop being cold soon enough Bis sonntag

Definitely a good run, despite the low turn out. I'll probably miss Sunday's session, but will see you guys next week.

We were trying to make D-Strasse standard for Sundays - but Giselastr. is MUCH easier for me...

Edit: And today I would guess that Hirschau beer garden will be closed, and Chinese Tower is much closer from Giselastr.

Yeah I know D-Strass on Sundays is the standard and I don't want to confuse. I just thought with the scheisse weather and smaller crowd, we'd like to play at Giselastr. It's closer for me.

I think in general the field is better at G-strasse, there are an abundance of beergardens in the vacinity, and it's closer to the u-bahn. If it's the nicest day in recent recorded history (which today is not!) and there are going to be sunbathers getting in the way, then in general I would be up for using the D-strasse location.

OK...so everyone who has said they are coming is preferring Giselastrasse...unless there are any dissenters then let's play there.

If anyone happens to be biking past D-Street on their way, stop by and tell anyone who's there to head down to Giselastr.

Well, it was a good game today with the 10 or so that showed up. Of course now that I've been in the pub for a couple *cough* hours... the sun is shining again.

Weenskii, bubble toes and myself were thinking that if the weather is good tomorrow we should get outside - maybe just for a throw around, maybe a game. If there's interest then post!

Great game last night folks... and the good news is that the sun has finally come out! So, roll on tomorrow, Wednesday and a good run around at 6pm at the Giselastrasse location. See you there!

Pencil me in on the Disabled List. I definitely bent my knee the wrong way yesterday. I think I'm out of action for the next week or two, at least.

Of course with my great luck, tomorrow and the following days of Ultimate that I'll miss will be gloriously sunny, warm, and beautiful. I'll try not to bring the rain with me when I return to form. But I am consoled by the lack of an excuse for missing Sunday and Wednesday World Cup games.

I'm gonna do my best but with work the way it is I won't be able to venture a guess until ~1700 tomorrow.

Args. Looks like I (along with my other 3 companions at Rock im Park, may it RiP until next year) picked up a cold. Probably all I'll be doing tonight is going home, cooking some frozen food, and watching the latest Sopranos.

But, provided I'm still not a sickly boy come Sunday, I hope to make it then for discs and bier!

For those who heard and were interested, and for those who haven't heard yet:
Mother Tongue is a team of native english speakers who live in Germany and beyond, getting together as a team for tournaments around Germany and beyond... if you fit the profile (yo-mama or yo-papa spoke the speek, and you like to dive... ultimately), send a mail to Wayne (address on the website), and sign up for some of the upcoming tournaments. AFAIK there's still one seat open for the Marburg 4-Ferkel tournament on 24/25 June.

In other news: I have a conflict of interest on Sundays at 2pm... I usually play with StuSta (at the Studentenstadt about 800m north of your usual stomping grounds) seeing as Toytown and StuSta frisbee teams both have a similar style of play, and both play at 2pm on Sunday... wouldn't it be cool to make a mini 2-team tournament of it sometime? e.g. Toytown visits StuSta, followed by StuSta visits Toytown? I think at both locations we've enough space, and people to make two teams and fields with subs.
Let me know what you think, and I can liase.

The mini tourney sounds like fun some Sunday. We could have a more-experienced team and a newer team, to get different levels of play.

Sounds interesting... let's chat about this after the game this Sunday (you could bring the StuSta folks along to Hirshau after the session so we can all meet up?). I'd be happy to introduce a bit of variation, just so long as we can still cater for all levels of ability who turn up - esp. people who come along for their first time. I'd rather we worked out the details with everyone around though, as there are quite a few people who play with us but hardly ever post to TT.
