@Thomas: CHECK HERE before going out Sunday! Because of Oktoberfest, numbers have been substantially lower in the park, and higher at the Wies'n (where it's damn hard to throw around a disc).
If you see no posts, or people say "Sorry, I'll be drinkin" you might better make other plans

No go for me today - have some out-of-towners coming by ... but looks like we weren't going to pull it together anyway.
Hope everyone is doing well - I miss you guys! This three sessions in a row I've missed!!
Anyway - Wednesday is looking good for me now - but who knows how long we can play this time of year (Ben?)
See you soon.

I reckon you'll be able to make it till about 7:30 on Wednesday if you push it, but certainly getting a bit touch and go. I'm in Edinburgh till the 5th Oct, so won't be out for either session...
@haynous - Congrats man!!! I was wondering if you'd name her so that the initials were U.F.

(but gcc is cool too from a programmer's perspective

). Ok everyone, place bets on what age she scores her first point... I'm going with 3 months, and 2 months for first defensive block...
Glad to see UF still alive and well in munich! Played my first game here at G-Tech with some friends, and promptly rolled my ankle in the middle of a full speed run, been gimping around for about 2 weeks now (yes, was already at the Dr.'s office... torn tendon or something).
If ya'll do a special Oktoberfest UF session, definitely post some pics!!!

Ultimate Wiesn Wednesday sounds like it was made to be. I'll almost certainly be there with a buddy from out of town, after work. Or maybe during work depending how the meetings go...

Tent suggestions are welcome!

Hey, I'm going to be in Munich from Thu 10/6 until the afternoon of Sun 10/9, or thereabouts - just long enough to miss both of the regular games! I'll be bringing a disc with me and just wondering if anyone wants to get together and toss and/or have a bier...
I'll be there in-between business trips all the way from Washington, DC, so, if anyone needs any un-gettable items from the US (like, twizzlers or something) I'll do my best..
Cheers

@Eric, you may find some ppl to throw around. Monday's a holiday here so many people might not check their mail while on vacation. Unfortunately I can't join you Thurs since I have class until after dark!
For next Wed's regular game... who is thinking about it now that the Wiesn will be done? What better way to work off some kg's of Wiesnbier than chase a disc! I can likely do it...

OK, so it's tuesday evening... actually 2 minutes until Wednesday. So who is coming out tomorrow to play? Anyone? Bueller... Bueller...
Or should I make alternative plans, despite the MARVELOUS forecast of "partly cloudy?"
edit: and, if not interested in playing, who wants to go for dinner and a beer ;-)

Hi Folks, I'll be there but probably not playing - still have a head full of cold, so much so that I'm not going walking. I'll come along for the toss about and bring the camera for some action shots though. To mccool, there is are details in post #1, but just to clarify:
Go to the North end of the U6/3 Giselestrasse station. Above it there is a crossroads. Look for the feilmann opticians, from there walk towards the English garden, then as you enter the gardens you cross a bridge. When you are over the bridge follow the road for ten more meters - then turn left. We play in that field, and tomorrow it will be from 4pm. You can usually notice us because of the yellow cones.

Just wanted to let you guys know I finished the first day of my first ultimate tournament back home. It was about 50 deg F and raining; so cold and wet, but sooo much fun! Nothing like a keg just off the field, a beer-filled supersoaker watergun, and of course, copious amounts of frisbee. Just imagine the BSF dives on a totally soaked ground. Hope all is well in Munich. I'm thinking about trying to come back to Munich for my spring break in March, so if you have it going then, I'd love to join again.
Take care.
Edit: We played an amazing game before the ultimate games started. It's called "Moron in the middle." You make a big circle, and there are, depending on how many people in the circle, 4 to 6 discs. The people in the circle try to hit the person in the middle. The person in the middle, however, has one of those big whiffle ball bats (seen below) to hit frisbees away or to hit people who come into the middle of the circle to grab knocked down frisbees. If you get hit in the head, the person who hit you had to bend over and get smack in the ass with the bat. It's wicked fun!

Hey... I am coming also... I'm sure there will be way more than 6 people today. Weather's nice, no Oktoberfest going on, and it won't be getting dark too soon after we start (like the past 2 Wednesdays).
The only way to make sure we have more than 3 or 4 is for you to go out there. Sounds like if it's less than 6 Ben is buying the gluhwein ;-)

hey, are you guys still on for this afternoon? If so, what part of the Garten do you play in. I saw the map, and i live pretty close by to the area, but could you be a little more exact for me? Im pretty bad, but i need to do something athletic

Oct 9 2005, 12:11 pm
PeterfromSC, have a read of the last post on the previous page, and look at the first post of this thread. Since many groups play many sports in that area on a Sunday afternoon we generally work out an exact location when we get there - just look for a group tossing a disc or two about and speaking (mostly) English. We have a set of bright yellow cones too.
All levels of fitness and ability welcome!

You are the man. I promise not to make so many sarcastic and cynical remarks about Germans and their kids next time. :-) I'll just hit the arsehole-Dad with the disc instead of his kid. (D'OH!!)
A dram of Knockando is putting me to sleep shortly. Tho after the hard running I hardly need it.

And in other news, I've worked out which Henry VI he was talking about - it was the Germanic one (of course), who ruled 1190-1197 and was "Holy Roman Emperor". I'm amazed - I thought the frisbee was a far more recent invention than that. These Bavarians and their long memories...

As discussed on Sunday, from now on Toytown Ultimate Frisbee will be once per week, on a Sunday
Although there is every possibility that folks will be bored and want to play odd games, the regular, reliable game will be Sundays at 4pm. If you plan to come down as a new comer that is the best day.
And for the regulars... one51 mentioned movie night at his this Wednesday... which I'd certainly be up for. Anyone else fancy it? (Sorry for volunteering you there dude...)
