Does anyone know whether the Sugar Bowl game will be broadcast at any
bars in Munich? The game is on the 4th of January. Highly unlikely, but especially if any LSU fans are out there, I'd be interested in catching the game together.

I think this is actually being shown on
Premiere - live. They'll be about 5 reruns in the days that follow no doubt. Can't help you with bars but I guess if you find one that shows premiere you might catch one of the reruns if they are happy to help you out - perhaps try that sports bar in the hotel in the Petuelring area near the top of Leopoldstr - forget the name sorry.

Do you mean maybe the
Marriott?

Would that be the "Champions Sports Bar" in the
Marriott hotel?
I was just there looking for a spot to catch the NFL playoffs. I have been there in the past and wanted to double check to see they were going to show the games, BUT they are renovating and subsequently closed until Monday, 12.Jan.2004.
Thanks

Are there any bars that will be playing American College Football this weekend? I prefer Big Ten but will take what I can get. I am hoping for a bar that will show the whole game and not change the channel when someone comes in looking for a rugby or soccer match. Does such a place exist in Munich?

Essentially we need to find a bar that carries NASN. I just checked
The Arc's sked for Saturday, but none of the games were listed (and there are TONS of NCAA games live on Saturday!). I'll keep looking. I am not sure the Marriot Sports Bar carries NASN.

Check if NASN is playing your game. If they are you can watch it at The Arc. If NASN is not playing it you are SLO for most US sports. The Arc has 3 TV's so you are pretty save to be able to get to watch it but you can also PM the user name:
The Arc to ask about it.
I watched all tons of Bball games there last fall. Great place to watch sports.
good tip, wg. college ball game this weekend would be good. is it just me or does anyone else have that "its fall, lets watch people crush each other" feeling.
blitz. when you gonna start that pee-wee league? that would rock the proverbial mike.

"The Arc has 3 TV's so you are pretty save to be able to get to watch it but you can also PM the user name: The Arc to ask about it. "Very good call. NASN has a total of five college games on on Sat., two of which are in the early evening / evening our time. So that would mean they are probably on at
The Arc., but I will check with them.

We can play the College Football at
The Arc on the weekend.
No probs at all.
First game according to the NASN website is UAB vs Tennessee at 6:30pm on Saturday, followed by Boston College vs BYU at 9:30pm.
Notre Dame vs Pittsburgh at 2:00am. But we won't guarantee being open for the whole of that game - unless at least 15 people show up to watch it...Replay is at 2:30pm on Sunday. We can show that for sure though

Excellent news. So who all is up for NCAA action at
The Arc on Sat.??
Oh hez Paddie, I didnt see your post. I would pop along and I know minga man and blitz would be up for it as well.
Just confirmed. We're in like pigskin. Blitzy, Minga Man and I will be at
The Arc at 6.30. I dont give a rats ass about TN (sorry peeps) but hey its a game. Will resist the urge to wear shit kickers and a flask in my boot as realise that am no longer some yahoo in Uni.

Erm, I think your arch rival is on tomorrow night

UT!
Hey thanks to
The Arc for showing the games. I managed to catch the Univ of Alabama vs. Tennessee. I didn't care much about either team going into the game but ended up going** for Bama only as they were the underdogs and I thought they were guaranteed to get creamed.
Turned out to be a pretty good game, with Tenn winning 17-10. The only complaint was that I had a hard time choosing what to eat as Ive never tested out the menu. Pie or Burger, Pie or Burger. In the end, I went with the burger. It was so big and good I nearly went into a food coma. mmmmm big beef burger coma. In hindsight I should've skipped the chips
ps: Jason/Harry I ran into some guy on the street named Saul in a burnt orange texas shirt who asked me to pass along his regards
**note: if this was a US board I probably would've written "rooting" which is another US english word for cheering/supporting a sports team

Hey, I am wondering if anyone wants to go to the bar this weekend to watch college football. I just moved to Munich and I've heard
The Arc is the place to go. I'll go for any of the games but I want to stay for the Ohio St. vs Texas game, which is the night game (so 2am in Munich). I'd really like to see this game. Let me know if you want to go. Thanks

Was he (Sal) on his cell phone when you bumped into him? I think I was talking to him when he ran into you. Or he called me right afterwards. He mentioned something about bumping into someone on the street. Anyway, pretty funny.
You coming back for the football this weekend??
small world. he had on burnt orange gear so i "hey yo'd" him. i think he was frightened. can't see the who wears the jarvii pants michigan vs. notre dame game though...sal was talking about the texas game, at 2am. highly unlikely i'll make that. thought about popping in on sunday though.

Yah, Sal said he checked the schedule and the Texas game isnt on NASN, but is showing Sunday afternoon (1:30 i think) on replay. We might catch the replay before the NFL games.

Yeah, that was a really good game! Go Hackney! Great QB. Remember, when we got there, we are joking around how it would 54-0 or so? Well, UAB could have easily taken that one to OT. It was great to catch some college ball again after such a long time.

Alex, I am outa town this weekend but am definitely in for some of the other weekends, and I am sure some others are as well. we had a small TT group at the Arc last Saturday.
regarding this weekend, you will have to check if
The Arc stays open that late (till the late game). after all, it would be about 5 am or so before the game ends. last weekend, they said 15 people would have to stick around for NCAA for them to stay open, which is perfectly legitimate IMO.

UT/OSU should be a good game. We will be able to see how tough the 'horns are this year. Will it be shown Sunday afternoon before the NFL? I mean
The Arc does not open that early does it?
This thread needs some pictures. Bestest college bowl game. Ever.

We probably won't be able to show the replay of the game on Sunday afternoon as we are already committed to showing the cricket and the Formula 1 racing then.

Is the Michigan-Ohio St. game on tomorrow at the Arc? It's not posted on their website or on nasn, but it's the biggest rivalry in college football. There's no way they can't show it. Anyone know?
Hazza
Nov 19 2005, 12:00 am
Actually - if it's not on NASN, then there's no way we CAN show it. But...it is actually on NASN, so we will be able to show it tomorrow.
It starts at 7pm, However because of screening clashes with the rugby, we will not be able to show the game from the start. We'll be able to start showing it sometime between 7:15 and 7:30pm.
Also, I would stick this in the Pub events section on TT. However, there's a limit to how many characters I can enter here. 3 Rugby union and 1 Rugby League international appear to be the limit at this point...
