Rock n' Roll Dive Bars in Munich

Jukebox, pool tables, cheap beer

Hey there,

I am going to be in Munich this summer, and I haven't been back in several years. I am looking for some good old fashioned rock n' roll dive bars with a great jukebox (Ramones, Blondie, Punk, Rock n' Roll and other Indie rock preferred), a pool table, and Ms. Pac Man/Galaga. Well, 2 outta 3 would be great. Oh yeah, and some good cheap beer!

I don't know. Something along the lines of CBGB's, Manitoba's, or another Lower East Side-type dive bar from NYC.

Any help would be mondo-appreciated.

Cheers,

- Matt

X Club
Schwabinger 7
No jukebox, the bar staff play what they fancy (usually AC/DC mixed into Mötorhead mixed into Kylie Minogue). X Club does have table football and possibly a games machine. Think S7 has a pool table out the back.
Neither of these places are for snobs (i.e. if you're worried about your coat, either leave it on, leave it at home or leave it).
Jennerwein - check for club nights

I like it in there - it is grot and proud.
Remember being in there when the barman had the same frilly shirt on that I did and I got a free helles for that. Mad.
Tend to go to X Club more though

Hey mcwinterr!

If you find one of those bars, please let me know. I've got a gig Friday down one of the bars that comes close, but not close enough sadly ~ Titanic City. I don't remember a pool table, but the state of the furniture and the smell reminds me of CBGB's. Maybe I should make up a CD for the DJ that night. How'bout Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Wayne County & The Electric Chairs, The Ramones, Television, Talking Heads, Dead Kennedys, mixed in with some Pistols, Clash, Ruts, Buzzcocks? wink.gif

Sin goes off to work singing "Hate and war. The only things we got to-day".

I did, didn't I? Shoot me blink.gif "When ah say ah'm in love you'd best believe ah'm in love... L.U.V!"

...and then there was Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers.
