Hi all,
there will be a bus leaving Munich for a weekend in Luxembourg from 27th to 29th of May. The cost for travel and hotel accommodation is a mere €100 per person sharing! (Single rooms etc also arrangeable) Departure will be from outside Günther Murphy's at 1pm on the Friday. We will return on sunday afternoon/ evening in time for the Günthers karaoke!

Luxembourg City is an unspoilt Medieval City perched above a gigantic gorge, at the foot of which you'll find some of the best night life on the continent! The highlights of the city are certainly all "doable" within a full day's sightseeing.

Main attractions include the Old Town with its narrow winding streets, Lower Towns in the valley where the nightlife is!, Pétrusse Valley, the Royal Residences and the beautiful City Gardens. Some pics of the town are below.

The bus is being organised by the München Colmcilles Gaelic Football club, of whom Günther Murphys are the main sponsor (which explains the departure location!).

Beer in Luxembourg is pretty good. You have to remember that Luxembourg is between Belgium and Germany which are the beer capitals of the world (ok.. along with the czech republic too!).
There are a number of local breweries in Luxembourg which are pretty good and you can also normally get Belgian and German beer in the pubs too if the local pils style stuff doesnt appeal.

Luxembourg
The Grand Duchy (as opposed to the Belgian province) has no specific brewing tradition. Its five breweries produce standard Pilsener-derivatives, plus the odd unfiltered, dark or strong lager. The most characterful are those from the smallest brewery, Battin, of Esch sur Alzette, in the old coal and steel area. In Luxembourg City, the Mousel brewery has its own "tap": Mousel's Cantine, 46 Montée de Clausen. Closed Sunday.
