Hi
The Erlangen Berg (Berch) starts this Thursday at 5pm and I'm considering doing a day-trip using a Schönes Wochenende ticket. This year is the 250th Berg and it is (probably) the best Bierfest you can go to (in my own opinion).
Trains would be 11:44 change at Nürnberg arr 14:52 there, back 21:01 change N'berg arr 0:21 or 6:09am arr 8:57am (would require second ticket)
There is an ICE train direct to Erlangen too.
This has not yet been planned properly and I'm not decided for sure but I thought I'd find out if there was any interest.

PS to see what it is like, special commemorative condoms (see PDF page 14) have been launched! wink.gif
Topsy
Could be a good day out.
I can imagine that it would not be very difficult to persuade me to do this smile.gif
UpQuark
Anyone up for this on Sunday? I'll be returning from Nürnburg that day and I'm under the (possibly mistaken) impression that this is about 10K from there.
Katrina
UpQuark, it is that close. If Sunday was an option I guess that people would want to get the 21:01 back (rather than 05:11 arr 08:54, 06:09 arr 09:31 or 06:58 arr 10:17).
To come back later on the 23:40 arr 03:21 you change 3 times and pay extra for the portion Augsburg-Pasing (EuroNight train) only.

i went there once, back when bavaria was still german, about 12 years ago. it was ace. you all come away with beer mugs, that then get broken in the street on your way home.

good idea about the 9pm train, but who is going to leave a session in the middle like that? doesn't seem likely to me ph34r.gif
Katrina
Exactly. I used to live in Erlangen...
In the grand scope of things, the 05:11 train isn't that unreasonable as there are enough places open that late. Seriously.
Topsy
I suppose it depends what time you start, really...

@Topsy

not in my experience. unless you mean "Saturday" instead of "Sunday"

that aside this is a great fest, well worth a visit for anyone bored this sunday!!
ParrotHead
So, which is it? Saturday or Sunday?

I would be interested in Sunday, if it were a possibility.

Hey Katrina, Topsy, and anyone else:

Who's going to be in Erlangen on Saturday? Nascar, I, and possibly a couple other social deviants are going to drive up on Saturday and stay the night. Anyone want to meet up? Saturday or Sunday?
