Best fit for me is Denver, which is odd since I wasn't much taken with the place. It was only a 60% fit though.
Most of the questions provide only two choices of answer. More are needed.

New York (70%) or Chicago (65%) for me.
Never been to Chicago, but I do love NYC.

You got San Francisco? I check the answers that would best describe San Francisco, and it didn't even make the list. It gave me Honolulu as my first pick (yuck!) and then Chicago. WTF? I specified nice weather!

IPJ I expected it to throw up SF for me by quite a margin too. It didn't make the top 5.

Me too. I said Skiing and 4 seasons are crucial - it gives me Austin as my first choice!
Is there an Austin in Vermont?

Might have been nice...before it turned into a tourist trap. It is quite enjoyable, though, to watch the hookers chase the Japanese tourists around.

70% San Francisco Been there - love it.
65% New York City Was there as a kid but don't really remember it. I could see this though.
60% Chicago Possibly to much rain - trying to escape Irish rain.
60% Honolulu Er...ok - dunno anything bout it. I know you can surf but is there skiing ?
Seems a rather odd collection - I specified West coast so thought Seattle would come up.

60% Honolulu -- great for mild weather, surfing, gets boring after awhile.
55% New York City -- mm, alright
55% San Francisco -- yeah liked it there.

This is sponsored by the city of Austin, isn't it?
That would explain why Austin comes up on practically every result. I mean, it is a great town and all, but can't imagine it coming up consistently, unless the cleanliness factor plays a large role in computation...

Ahhh Austin, the city by the bay, at the foot of the Rockies, with no crime/high crime - depending what you want, and more bars, restaurants, theaters and museums than you can possibly fit into a well polluted city.
As for me:
65% Honolulu
55% New York City
55% Philadelphia
55% Seattle
50% Austin
Don't know about this one - don't fancy ANY U.S. city really!
@interplanetjanet - seems like we have a match! I don't know much about USA but isn't Honolulu near the sea, which was one thing I specified as not important???
Austin
Rocks. Man I miss that town. Agreed with DW.
Best.City.Ever.
@RP-3CPO: I'll take a mixed plate from the county line or if thats too far from your law firm, the party platter of fajitas from pappasitos. Oh and a gallon of Amy's white chocolate and strawberries.
If I really, really had to live in the USA again, it would have to be St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Does that count?

You are bad news. For some reason, when Austin comes up on this site, you bring up some of the city's best culinary offerings. And of course, being the gentleman I am, I honor your request and go eat exactly what you tell me to. Can't... give...in, can't ... listen ... to ...jml...must...stay...healthy...

And I've been to lots of cities all over the world. Visiting a city tells you nothing about the quality of life.
interplanetjanet
May 6 2005, 3:55 pm
I've gotta get to Austin.
Chicago
May 6 2005, 4:00 pm
oh, I think on a quick visit you can get a pretty good idea of the quality of life in say:
- Gary, IN
- East St. Louis, IL
- Detroit
- Baltimore
- Baton Rouge
- Oakland
- Rochester
- Buffalo
if you feel like you should lock the doors of the car: it is probably a low quality of life...
