OK, I got the book today for the Bad Heilbrunn climbing outing. There is everything from 4- to 7's available there, so should be good for anyone intersted in climbing outdodors. The cliffs are up to 35 m high.

Please pm me if you are a definate. How about an 8:30 ish start (we'll meet up then and start the drive) or do you prefer earlier (or later). I will also follow this thread and answer questions as they arise, and will also post more info as I have it (I will also post info in pm's to those who are definate). I will ask someone who knows the area better than I, where a good meet up point will be.

We're going climbing, we're going climbing biggrin.gif

If I recall correctly, I'm the only one with a rope, and I can't do it on the 15th (though the 16th is good for me, since it's a holiday).

Just how many non-climbers are there wanting to go? I don't mean to ruin the fun, but I don't want to end up spending half the day teaching people the basics and being responsible for their safety. Perhaps we can organize a separate trip for people who haven't climbed before? Just a thought.

If we do indeed have only one rope, then it would be a bit pointless to make it a big trip. Anyone else got a rope?

IPJ...Perhaps we can organize a separate trip for people who haven't climbed before? Just a thought.

Great idea! I would love to go, but doubt I have monday off even with it being a holiday. (I need a normal job!) I also have no equipment and no experience climbing anything but ficticious walls.

Where is the indoor climbing wall? and how much does it generally cost?
Anyone know???
bonydebbie
count me in for a non climber who would like to go and ofcourse no rope either

@icemocha - See this old thread. I like Thalkirchen, personally. If you go in the evenings during happy hour, it's cheapest, and you might want to start off NOT getting a membership if you're not sure yet how you like it.

OK, looks like Sunday the 15th is working best for everyone. Who has wheels besides me? I have all gear, including a rope, and any other ropes will be more than welcome as it will be good to have a few ropes going.

Now we need to figure out where to meet up in Munich, what time, confirm who is coming, etc, etc, etc!!!

The plan is easy routes, reviewing knots, making sure everyone knows how to belay safely, and just having a good, SAFE, time outdoors!

Tina

So far, as far as I can tell, the list of those going includes, and what they have for gear, please update me:

pranaman
Note that there is normally a large group (8-10) of english speakers that go to Thalkirchen KH on Tuesday nights regularly. Perhaps will see y'all there tonight.
FatBoyFat
Sorry I couldn't make yesterday. However I'll be there on Sunday. Where are you gonna meet?

P.S. I don't have a full rack of gear! Just rope, shoes, harness, couple of slings and carabiners. No trad protection or quickdraws. However this should be enough for a top-rope.

P.P.S. I'm well out of shape! cool.gif

Paul.

Do we have a final plan for Sunday yet?
FatBoyFat
Okay,
So as you may know, were spilting into 2 teams:

Team Paul meeting plans:
So it would be best (easy for me!) to meet up at Bonnerplatz UBahn. If you go up to street level you find a HL/mini-mart shop. I'll be the bloke standing there looking like a twat! To make it even more easy I'll be wearing the stupidest trousers known to man and holding a coiled rope! and my name is Paul... dry.gif

Hey, tina what time are you going to set out? Team Paul should do the same sad.gif

Please send me a PM (with you mobile number) if you wanna lift

Paul.
FatBoyFat
We are meeting up at 8(am)
tinap
OK, driving with me are Bummer and Bernuca. Please meet me at Candidplatz. If you exit Candid platz richtung Jacob-Gelb-Platz, at the top of the stairs is an Eis Cafe. I will be there. Tall, long curly brownish/blondish hair, in a rainforest t-shirt. Please be there promptly at 8.

It will not rain, it will not rain, it will not rain...

To those of you who came, thank you, it was wonderful!!!

To those of you who missed it, ah, you missed out on a great day. There were 6 of us, we loved the rock, the weather was incredible, and we all had a super time.

interplanetjanet
Glad to hear you had a nice time. Sorry we couldn't make it. Aren't you back a bit early?
tinap
We climbed Sunday. Thanks for merging the pics, couldn't figure out how to do it.
greg
