On Saturday, the MCC will play it's first home game of the year against an invitational XI from
The Arc at the Hirschanger
Game will start at 12:30pm and will feature several regular TT's.
Should be a good day out - hopefully the weather plays along, even though the forecast isn't looking too crash hot at this stage.

I think the Arc team is made up of TTers visiting
The Arc regularly, not necessarily staff.

Not necessarily TTers either, just regulars I think...
BTW Hazza, how many overs per side?
Oh, and do I have to field as well
Jeeves
May 3 2005, 4:17 pm
and umpire perhaps?
Wee Mun
May 3 2005, 4:18 pm
I would happily bat and umpire if I can skip the fielding

I am sure the 10 of you will do a sterling job...

I will be the third umpire sitting in the pavillion. Whoever bribes me with most beers gets the benefit of doubt for those close calls.
Wee Mun
May 3 2005, 4:24 pm
The Arc should be able to offer the better bribes if it is beer you want

Maybe you can be guest sledger, not that we need any more with Jason in the team...

Nah commentating's the thing. Free beer and cake. Any interesting bus routes in the area? There must be a few pigeons around to talk about should the action on the pitch start to flag.

Mmmm, Maibock... a Forschungbräu special, as per usual I hope.
I'll probably come and cheer on my team.

You mean you'd all have a doss-around and drink Maibock instead of going all the way out to the bloody airport to play in Lufthansa's 6-a-side? Shame on you

MCC are batting first. I'm heading down there now. At least until the rain scares me away.

I trust that the rounding-up has been completed and that you are all in training. Also that nobody's worried about the Antarctic temperatures that we're suffering.

I am thinking about going for practice this evening to see if my bones can still handle this game. Man itz been over 20 years since I played cricket and I am in a terrible shape.

We just had a late withdrawal from the team and need a replacement.
Is anyone up for a game of cricket tomorrow?
It's a friendly and it doesn't matter what level you're at. The MCC will provide all necessary equipment.
So if you wanna play for
The Arc tomorrow, then please PM me ASAP or reply on this thread.
Hope to see some others there, spectating tomorrow.
Cheers,

Starting time is 12:30 according to posts numbers 1 and 27.
Spectators got beer after The Ashes match last year but I wouldn't like to project that onto tomorrow's event. Spectators bring their own beer anyway!

Good game, The Arc's Jason managed to keep them in the running. Certainly not the carnage that was expected.
Watch out, Crawlie is a wicked fast bowler, if a little erratic.

I actually worked out that I had not bowled a ball for over 10 years before Saturday. That would explain why my entire right side is just one big pain zone... Oooherrr

Crawlie, figures of 8-1-33-4 ain't at all bad after such a long layoff!
In case anyone's interested
The Arc made 154 all out and MCC 155-8
