Beer and Oom-Pah Music

Hi all,

Due to excessive demand, I'm posting our band's next two gigs. We are playing at the Haderner Dorffest this Sunday, May 1st and the following Thursday May 5th (this is a public holiday). We are playing both days from 11am to 3:30 pm.

The Haderner Dorffest takes place at Max-Lebsche-Platz (I always read Max-Lesbian-Platz, but it's not, sorry to disappoint). To get there, you take the U6 to Klinikum Großhadern, get off at the back of the train, and boom, you are there. You can't miss it, it's a big beer tent.

It's always good fun, this year especially since we got rid of all the politicians who sometimes interrupt the music to give a speech. I repeat, NO politicians, just music, beer and food. The Steckerlfisch comes highly recommended. It can make for a nice bike ride out there, or just take the U-Bahn if you are a bit lazy.

The band also comes highly recommended by me, they are really good (even without beer).

Is there any place to entertain the kids at the fest while I listen to the music and sip the beer ?? Might be a do-able thing then.

I seem to recall a few little kiddie activities there, like kick a ball through the targets kind of thing, but nothing too too much. Probably enough to keep them going for an hour or so.

for some reason I thought this was an evening do and I was thinking seriously about going, but it's daytime... I can't make it, I'll probably be at work both those days

I think it's very important that children are introduced to the culture and fun of beer festivals at a very early age. (Really, I do!).

Oh - they are familiar with them. But I also think it's cruel to make them sit in a beertent for hours. I saw a couple take their kids to the (closed for overfilling) Oktoberfest tent last year while they hung out for a couple masses - just not a kiddy friendly environment in that way. On the other hand, if it's not too smokey and early enough that the drunks aren't going to fall off the table they have been trying to dance on - I agree that they should experience the beer festival culture - and expecially the music.

Thanks to everyone again who made it. Judging by the noise you made, I'll assume you enjoyed yourselves. The band enjoyed having you too, everyone was asking about our fan club and also asking if you would be coming to our other events this summer. Nothnig like a bit of enthusiastic clapping to keep musicians happy! Thanks again.
